Chapter 20

Hey guys I have an announcement! If you're fluent and good with English grammar, I have a job you might be interested in! I'm not that great of an editor and I've been needing someone to do that for me.

Normally it takes me two days to write a chapter, one with writing and one with editing, and I figured that if I had someone to edit for me and proofread for me, I could get more chapters out faster.

No, I'm not paying for this, but you will be given credit in each chapter that I post and we will be sharing a google doc. Think about this, please!!

"Alright, so the first thing you need to do is pick a character on the screen," Peter explained.

"And this...character...will be my champion?" Loki asked, slightly confused.

"Yeah, and they all have different abilities. Like strengths and weaknesses."

Loki nodded along.

Peter was teaching Loki how to play Super Smash Bros while Steve and Bucky watched them from the back. They were hesitant around the god but when they saw how much Peter liked him, they tried getting to know him as well.

"So how do I control this champion?" Loki asked.

"You move this little trigger thingy around, and to attack, you press this." Peter pointed and explained what each button did so Loki could get used to it. He was a fast learner though.

Loki chose the username NOOBMASTER69 and hit continue on the controller.

"You want to try a game, Mr. Loki?" Peter asked, eyes twinkling with excitement.

"As you wish."

Peter grabbed his own controller and chose his character. Naturally, he went fairly easy on Loki but after the first few games, Loki grew more accustomed to the controls and even managed to defeat Peter once.

Steve and Bucky eventually left, figuring that FRIDAY would alert them if Loki tried anything so they left them to play in peace.

Then Pepper walked into the room. Naturally, she was alright with Loki staying in the tower as long as he behaved and didn't y'know, go on a rampage again.

"Uh, Hi Ms. Potts!" Peter waved.

Loki turned to look at Pepper and he gave a small nod for a greeting. If anyone could keep Loki in check it was Pepper.

"Hi, Peter, have you seen Tony around?" She asked.

"Uh, n-no, I think he might be in his lab though," Peter offered.

Peter was more comfortable around Pepper after he figured out what was triggering him and explained to Tony why he was so upset after she tried helping him while they were both sick.

Tony understood and apparently relayed the message to Pepper who tried fixing it as much as possible.

It helped a lot but Peter still got jumpy around her when she said things like 'sweetie' or 'sweetheart'. That's what May called him.

"Oh, alright, I'll go check then," Pepper said, turning around and walking away. Her heels clicking in the distance.

"So are you going to explain why you have such a distaste for that young woman?" Loki asked, while they started the next match.
