Romania, 1462

Constantinople has fallen.

Muslim Turks swept into Europe with a vast, superior force striking at Romania, threatening all of Christendom. From Transylvania arose a Romanian knight of the Sacred Order of the Dragon known as (YN). On the eve of the battle his bride, Elisabeta whom he prized above all things on Earth knew that he must face an insurmountable force from which he might never return.

(Third Person)

(YN) walked through the gore and blood-soaked remains of the battle of his lifetime. His red armor crimson with the blood of the Turks. The bodies of his men being dragged away by their comrades. He keeled before the pike-impaled bodies of his unholy enemies. Their dead contorted expressions displayed the utter horror of their fate. " God be praised, for l am victorious. " He said. (YN) then took out his crucifix and kissed it.

His individual ceremony was interrupted by one of his men. " Lord Dracula! " The man shouted from horseback. (YN) got up to acknowledge the man. He was one of the castle guards as shown by his armor. The guard climbed off his horse and gave a quick respectful nod. " Yes, guard? " (YN) asked. " It's about your wife, my lord. " He started. The guard was about to bear the news when his lord pushed him aside and hijacked his horse. (YN) rode away as the sunset on the sea of corpses.

(YN's) P.O.V

" Elisabeta! " I cried out as I rode full force back to the castle. Please be alright. I'm begging you! When I got to my castle cathedral I nearly kicked the door open. There my wife laid on the steps of the altar. I rushed to her body and hugged it close to mine. It was drenched in water. No please no. Tears began to freely stream from my eyes as I felt for a nonexistent pulse. The priests slowly approached me. " How! " I shouted. " False news led to this my son. " One of the priests said. " She flung herself into the river. " Elisabeta, I'm so sorry.

My love I should've been there for you. I continued sobbing as the priest continued " Your love has taken her own life, my son. " He said. " Her soul cannot be saved. She is damned. lt is God's law. " To hell with God's law. I drew my sword to the priests surrounding me. " Sacrilege! " I shouted in absolute anguish. " ls this my reward for defending God's church? " The priests quickly backed away. " Do not turn your back against Christ! " The priest begged. I already have. " I renounce God! " I shouted. " And all you hypocrites who feed off him! " The fearful priests backed themselves into the wall. You will pay God will pay! " If my beloved burns in Hell, so shall I! " I screamed as my sword cut each of them down one by one. After the deed was done, I drooped my bloodied sword and stared at my hands.

An unnatural breeze suddenly swept into the cathedral, killing the light of all the candles. " Now that was something. " I heard a deep aristocratic voice say. " My head turned to the last lighted candle, there stood a pale human-looking being with glowing yellow eyes with small black pupils. " Who are you? " I asked. No human has those eyes. What in the world was this being? " Well, I'm not God. " The man said. He stepped towards me as the candles came to light once more. " He stopped meddling in the affairs of his creations long ago. " Could it be? The man smiled at me, revealing his long and long sharp teeth. He wore white attire I had never seen before and a black hat that was for some reason tall. His black cane had a fake apple on top. I stared at it when the realization hit me.

This is him, the fallen angel himself! In fear, I grabbed my sword which caused the Devil to laugh. " You can't hurt someone when they're in your head, and I come in peace, sort of. I'm Lucifer. " I still kept the sword in my hand. " What do you want with me?! " I shouted at him. " I'm already condemned! " Lucifer nodded and shrugged. " True but you can be so much more! " He shouted.

" I can give you the power you need to avenge her, to insult God and good through the defiling of life. " Lucifer then turned me around and placed his arms on my shoulder to comfort me. While he was only in my head, I still felt the pressure. My eyes layed on the body of my wife. A chance at revenge, a chance to avenge her. " Yes. " I muttered. " Goood, (YN), goood. " Lucifer whispered menacingly. " There is a price of course, blood. Seal the deal and your fate on the altar. "

He let go of me. I slowly limped to the alter, my legs weak from the thought of the Devil himself in my mind. Mustering up my last bit of strength, I plunged my sword into the large cross at the altar. Lucifer's smile grew as he snapped his fingers. This is for you, Elisabeta. Blood began the pour from the cracked altar. It seeped down, filling a goblet. I picked it up. Lucifer stepped into the shadows and disappeared.

" The blood is the life and it will be mine! "
