It was the second month into school, October 1st to be exact. It was gray and rainy out for early fall that is. It was exactly two days after I found out that Lillian Beverly was coming back. Yes, Lillian was one of those silent kids that kept quiet until she was spoken to by a teacher.

The bus was turning down a street that we always drive by. Something about today did seem a little off and as it was the bus was already packed as it is the only seat left was next to me. We pulled up in front of a student I am guessing as a new student. In which we have received at least 20 new students per grade in the last month, except for my grade that is. Only Lillian will be that is... whenever she shows up.

This new student loaded onto the bus in a gray hoodie and kept their head down. I closed my eyes to act like I wasn't starving like the rest of the students. My eyes stayed shut, up until I was delicately tapped on the shoulder. "May I sit here." said the voice just as I pulled out my earbuds. I nodded my head and put my bag on my lap. As this character sat down I was still curious as to who this character was...

This character rolled up the sleeves of the jumper revealing small hands with blue chipped nail polish. So this person was female. I still couldn't see her face because she was digging through her bag pulling out her headphones. She pulled her hood down a few seconds later revealing longish blond hair. It was frizzy in some spots, you can tell that she was trying to sit still, and not shake from how cold she was. From the looks of it, she didn't have another jumper.

Tapping her on her shoulder, she pulled out her earbuds. "Hey, do you want to use my dry sweater? " I asked as I searched her gray eyes. "Um no I'm pretty sure the school has heat right?" she asked obliviously, but in the same sweet tone as before. "Actually no, not at the moment they are under repair right now, and you can return it to me later, everyone on this bus always sits in the same seats," I replied being very informational.

"Um okay, thanks!" she said taking off her gray jumper, revealing a plain white tank top. She zipped it up. My sweater went well with the minty colored ends of her hair.

The bus ride continued for ten more minutes, I discreetly watched her from the corner of my eye. As we pulled closer to the school, she started fidgeting running her fingers through hair, pushing her bangs back. The bus pulled closer, and she put away her phone, rolling up the sleeves of the sweater. She took no time to get up and exit the bus.

Once I got off the bus she was nowhere in sight, everyone was whispering about a new principal Mr. Beverly, and his daughter had officially arrived. If you haven't connected the dots yet he is Lillian's father.

I quickly walked past all the cheerleaders who always tried to get my attention to homeroom. As you see, I'm the Junior Varsity captain for the football team and was nominated captain of the baseball team at the end of my sophomore year.

After our 20 minute homeroom, I noticed that the perky girl wasn't in her normal seat, she must be showing new kids around again. The first-period bell rang, and some students left to go to their class, like the rest of the stay for our first-period class. A few seconds, after Alexis Carter, "aka" Mrs. Perky, with a new girl in tow. Mrs.Perky sat her plastic self down in her seat, which was front row.

The new girl was talking to Mrs.Weston, the English teacher. The new girl grabbed a copy of the play The Crucible, which is starting today. then came to sit in front of me.

"Class, we have a new student, Would you like to introduce yourself?" Mrs. Weston said. The girl stood up and stood at the front of the class."

"Hi, ugh- I am Lillian Beverly -

"You guys can call me Lilly for short, and yes my fathers the new principle."

"These might look like real glasses but they are not, back in Cali, I was captain of girls softball and the swim team and I hope to play those two sports here too."

"I am originally from here, I went to Camden Falls Elementary up until second grade, then moved to California for reasons."

Oh, so the new mystery girl is Lillian Beverly.....

It was now the fourth period and there wasn't a class that I didn't have with Lilly. But every time I tried speaking to her, Mrs. Perky Pants Carter would interrupt me. Speaking of which Mrs. Perky Pants and I have had a long history together. She has always had a major crush on me. Since Middle School, It wasn't a discrete crush, and she made it known. And at first, I liked that and I did go out with her from Freshmen year to the Winter in Sophmore year.

As assumed she never got over it and became, instantly annoying and making her life busy with cheerleading and class president duties. But every time I had an encounter with any female that wasn't older than 20, she seemed to pop up, out now where. But she isn't going to screw up anything for me this year. She was sitting there begging Lily to sit with her and the rest of the cheer squad, on our way to lunch. "Ugh, I have to go to my father's office to go get my lunch that I left in the staff fridge, I'll meet you there in 10 minutes," Lilly responded. Perky step foots into the cafe and walked away.

Lily slid down the wall next to the cafe, and let out a sigh of relief. I couldn't help but laugh, she looked up right into my eyes. "What's so funny?" she asked innocently. "You just lied your butt off to Mrs. Perky," I responded. "Oh you caught on to that?" she asked smirking. " Yeah I did, I'm Dylan Johnson by the way," I said with a smile. "That sounds so familiar, but yeah I can't handle Perkiness, and I think I have gotten my fill of it for the week. I am trying to save myself from, having her write me up for Cheerleading and a whole lot of headaches," she said leaning her head back on the wall and closing her eyes. " Come on it won't be that bad, and I don't know about you but I am hungry. So come on you can come to sit with me and my friends." I said laughing and offering her my hand. "Your very funny Dylan," she said sarcastically taking my hand to get up. Then followed me into the cafe.
