ro.na /rōnə/
short-slang for Coronavirus.
Shit is real.Note for future readers - God; I hope there are readers in our future. But also, I hope there are other events in humankind's subsequent path that are so big and widespread, that future readers will find this introduction - that explains the obvious to every single conscious mind living in 2020 - valuable.
RONA is a short story anthology about the global COVID-19 pandemic - that is; a compilation of short stories I've written while isolated in quarantine.
As I write this introduction, this viral disease has killed 400,000 people and infected other 6.19 million. The number of lives affected by it - sometimes provoking fear, sometimes bringing hope - is unmeasurable.
Also as I type these words, there are about 12 short stories written for RONA . Since lock-down is being relaxed too soon in America and a second wave of infection is all but unlikely, so are the chances of more stories popping up. Let's hope not. Or, at best, let's hope I write it as a distant yet significant memory that will leave a mark on us for a long time - even if it becomes curable and manageable tomorrow.
I intend to post at least one new story per week, but depending on the size of the story it can be two. Feel free to comment here and on every chapter.
Have an eerie reading.
Yours truly,
Athens Wrigley
