It was time to think about job this year (for those who didn't want to go to university), that meant Career Day. Peter hated Career Day, Aunt May always had work and when he was alive it was Uncle Ben's job to come. Him and Peter would go grab pizza 'Good old New York pizza' as Uncle Ben used to say. They would laugh about the silly questions that had been asked. Of course, May worked and Ben was the stay-at-home Dad but he talked about his previous jobs like he still had them and when Peter used to point this out, his uncle would say "I was in the carnival, Pete. I know how to preform." This was the point in the conversion were Peter would point out he was in the military too. Uncle Ben would nod solemnly "So Pete, if you have any bullies come to me." Peter would laugh and so would he.

'Now, I have bullies and no Uncle Ben.' Peter thought as he got dressed and checked his bag in case he missed anything. He could have asked Aunt May to let me skip school, he doesn't ever do that and she probably would have but he didn't want to worry her. As he went to the kitchen and prepared his breakfast Peter thought about Germany for like the millionth time, he hoped he hadn't made a bad impression on the heroes on the other team, especially Captain America. Apart from being his second favorite Avenger (his first was Ironman, of course), Peter thought he had seemed really nice. He was from Brooklyn like Uncle Ben.

Thinking about Captain America made him think about Mr Stark and thinking about Mr Stark made him think about The Flying Vulture Guy. Peter poured milk into a bowl of cereal and he stuffed two granola bars into his backpack, he gulped down his breakfast and went to write a note to May before heading to the school bus:

Dear Aunt May,

I'm heading to school. I took two granola bars, hope that's okay. Being a superhero makes you have a fast metabolism, have a good day at work.

Xoxo,

Peter

Ned would have told him not to sign like that 'It's not cool, Dude. That's not how your going to get girls.' He could almost imagine him saying. Peter sighed, what Ned might have said could be true but he didn't know what it was like to wish you could say 'I love you' to someone and knowing you're never going to be able to. Ever again. Peter plugged his ear-pods in and watched the video of the lecture at M.I.T by Tony Stark, a few years back on his hologram invention. B.A.R.F, when he watched it he felt like at least Mr Stark knew.

But he had never had the encourage to tell his mentor.

As he walked onto the bus and was greeted by the sound of "Orphan boy" and "I hope your Dad isn't coming, I don't plan to grow up to be dead." Peter closed his eyes and inhaled deeply. 'Yup, it's going to be a long day.'
