Claire's Brother is Mean

(At the end of the school day)

"Hello Nico"

"Hello Mrs. Goodmen"

"Oh please call me Alice"

"Okay then Alice, what can I do for you"

"Well as you know Claire and Onyx have become really good friends.  So I was wondering if she would like to come over after school one day?"

"I'm sure she'd love that"

RING! RING! RING!

"Hey princesse" Nico says as Onyx hugs him "How do you feel about going to  Claire's house after school one day?" Onyx and Claire both grinned at eachother.  "I want to Papa! Can I please!" Onyx said.  Nico nodded and it was decided that Alice would pick up Onyx from school next week.

Time Skip to Next Week...............................................

Onyx got in the car with Claire, Mrs. Goodmen and Claire's brother Josh.  She'd only been in Will's van before, which was very spacious.  The car she was in now was cramped.  She was sqished between Claire and Josh.  Onyx was feeling a bit claustrophobic.  Also she wasn't sure about Josh he kept looking at her weird as though he was expecting her to attack him at any given moment.  Onyx knew that her Papa could be really scary when he wanted to, but from the day she met him he'd always been kind and understanding.  Dad and Papa had explained to her that they weren't a traditional family and people might look at them a little longer then they would other families.  She knows her mother is a goddess and that what happens in New Rome stays in New Rome.  Papa also explained to her that he has a dark aura around him so most people will feel scared around him.  It's only when he's with Dad that it goes away completely however she hasn't noticed it for a long time.  She is nervous about going to Claire's house however her nerves can't contradict the excitement that she feels.  This is the first time that she's had mortal friends and she wants to make a good impression. 

Josh wasn't sure what to make of Onyx.  Claire seems to like her a lot but before she asked Mom and Dad about having her over Mom and Dad talked about how Onyx's father gives them the creeps.  Of course Josh has only seen Mr. Solace-di Angelo from a distance, from what he can tell he ever ever smiles, people avoid him and he wears nothing but black.  He doesn't trust the dude.  One thing is for sure if Onyx or her creepy dad lays a hand on his little sister they will be sorry. 

They arrived at the house it was big, way bigger than Onyx's house.  Claire and Onyx went to Claire's room and played dress up.  Onyx was amazed at how many dresses Claire had.  She had lots of dresses but Claire had tons.  After playing for a while Mrs. Goodmen called the girls down to do homework.  Within half an hour they were done, it took Onyx a little more time for obvious reasons.  Mrs. Goodmen then called Josh and her husband over for dinner.  

Soon all 5 of them were at the table.  Lamb was served Onyx wasn't quite sure what it was so she hesitated.  Mrs. Goodmen noticed "Onyx is something wrong?" she asked.  "No, it's just that I've never eaten this before.  What is it?"  "It's lamb sweetie, I know that not a lot of people eat it.  What do you usually eat at home?"  Onyx smiled and her eyes lit up.  "Papa's a really good cook, he makes pasta and pizza from stratch and it tastes so good!!! On the weekends he makes me and Cayden pancakes! Sometimes he even lets me help." she said.  Mr. Goodmen took the opportunity to join the conversation.  "He sounds like a really good dad, what's your favourite thing to do with him?" "Well...I like it when we sing and dance together and when we draw and when we go to the park."  Mr. Goodmen nodded approvingly. "Stop talking about him like he's a good father!" Josh shouted.  "But he is a good father" Onyx replied confused.
