A lone wolf

As I was running my white winter coat was glistening in the moonlight. "Damn at this rate I won't have anything to eat" I growled to myself. In case you haven't caught on yet, I am a wolf and yes, I did just speak. My name is Luka, I come from a long line of wolf breed in your world you'd call me a werewolf but in mine, I'm much more then a story made to interest small children. The sun would be up soon, I should get to my den before then.

Some think a life of solitude is boring or outrageous, not me, I love feeling the wind through my fur as I run under the stars without anything bothering me. In a pack there are rules and order but here, here there is freedom. No more slobbering idiots breathing down my neck as I run or fluff brains stepping on my tail while I nap. Just me, the cool air, and the trees.

I finally reached my den, it's not much to the untrained eye. After all two large rocks with a small gap barely big enough for a pup to squeeze in doesn't seem like a preferred full sized wolf den. Me being as clever as I am, dugout the ground just enough for me to slip in between the big rocks and enter. The inside leads into a large hollow part in the earth, almost like a giant tunnel. After a while of walking I get to the cave.

Long ago people came into these caves to look for pretty stones but two big rocks covered the hole they made and they became trapped. The men grew worried and decided to work together to dig a tunnel to escape but only two could make it out. The other three where mean big men had hurt the two smaller ones so the small ones left and closed up the hole. A group of wolf folk found the mean men. Once they heard their story they put the mean men out of their misery. The tale of the mean men and the two small ones was soon forgotten, but I remembered.

My cave has everything I need, a small pool of clean water, a bunch of pillows and a couch, clothes, and warm animal pelts. This is my home, and I love it. I lie down on the couch and bury my nose under my paws and slowly drift off to sleep.
