The emperors gaze was cold, so cold it was as if it could pierce through me.Was this really how I was going to die?
Why must it be like this? Why must it be so unfair? It was unfair. Unfair. Unfair.
I was his daughter too.
Was all my effort for naught? But I tried so hard. I tried so hard for his acknowledgement, his care, his love. But I was a fool. He never loved me, never had, and never will.
Her jeweled eyes became watery as she stared at the ground, at least soon she will be put out of her misery. At the corner of the girl's eyes she could see the brunette standing there, watching her. How lucky , she thought bitterly.
Perhaps fate had its favorites, and she wasn't one of them.
Would this be happening if she had never encountered father? Would she had been happier with a loving father if she had been born a commoner instead?
Then she would wish she never met, wish that he wasn't her father.
No longer was it longing and sadness that festered in her heart. Now it was filled with bitter anger.
The girl then looked up, staring into the man's cold jeweled eyes as he stared back. Tears fell down her cheeks, "would you have loved me if I was like Jeanette?" eyes still staring at the man. His face remained stone cold.
"I'd never consider you as my daughter."
Without hesitation the man lifted his sword, ready to swing. Tears continued to flow down the girl's cheeks. Does it really have to be this way?
It would be nice if she could start her life anew, perhaps finding a joy somewhere out there in this harsh world of theirs.
Swiftly, he swung his sword, the blade getting closer and closer to the girl's throat. Making small contact with her skin, there were sparks.
Claude raised an eyebrow, "what do you think you're doing?"
But Athanasia remained silent, unaware of the light that was gradually enveloping the room.
Soon she was gone, not a trace of her left. The girl had disappeared.
