Lost love

The beginning

She was in 7th grade when she met him. Having no idea he was going to be the one to change her life.
They met in gym class. Over a simple rubber band.
"I found this and I know you like rubber bands. So I wanted to give it to you." He said as she took the rubber material from him. "My name is Ted by the way."
"Oh my god!" She smiles in excitement. "How did you know that i like these?"
He starts blushing trying to find his way around the conversation, just as the gym teacher yells for everyone to get to their correct spots. Ted quickly moves to his spot. Looking back he smiles at her as she starts to blush.
After class she is exiting the gym going to her locker to get her books for the next class. When she jumps as someone touches her shoulder from behind. She turn around quickly to see Ted standing there with a cute little smile that melts her heart.
"So Emily, where is your next class?" Ted asks hoping he is going in the same direction as her.
"Oh.. Uhm.. I have study hall, in the east wing.." Emily notices his sad look before she adds "I think i might skip it though.. Its my last class and my little brother gets done school early and I usually have to pick him up before...." Realizing she has already said more then she should have she quickly turns to walk the other way. Stopping when she feels Ted grab her hand.
"Please wait. How about a deal?.. You go to your study hall and wait for me and I'll walk you home." Hoping Emily takes her offer, as he knows his mother will flip if he is late coming home.
Hesitating for a slight moment she simply smiles and accepts his deal. He turns away with the biggest smile.
While in study hall Emily pulls out her phone to text her dad.
~Dad might be a little late picking up Tyler, have to catch up on some work..
Love Em.
Her legs shake nervously as she waits for her dad to respond. She starts listening to music as she works on homework. She feels her phones vibration. She opens to see a small simple text from her dad.
~ok. No problem. Come home after you get Tyler.
Relived he was ok with her being late. She finishes her school work as the final bell rings. Eager to see Ted she quickly put her things in her locker and waits for him.
After 5 minutes of waiting anxiously. She looks around amd finally see him coming around the corner. His bookbag seems to be heavier then he is.
"Hey Emily, you ready?.. Uh wheres your bag?" His face shows concern amd confusion.
She just smiles "I did all my work in study hall. So i dont need it."
As they walk home together, they talk and laugh. Thinking to herself. This is beyond perfect. I hope everyday can be like this.
Almost as he read her mind Ted looks down "unfortunately this camt be an everyday thing.. My mother would lose her mind if i came home late all the time."
Not wanting to show her disappointmemt she just smiles "yeah i get it. Its okay"
Emily realizes the long walk home is coming to an end once she sees her street. She looks at Ted as they come up to her house. "Well this is where i live." She cant help but smile and blush a little as she looks into his bright brown eyes.
He feels his cheeks getting red as he stares into her sweet blue eyes. "Ill see you tomorrow." He leans in and kisses her cheek.

As the year went on they became inseparable. Talking about everything and nothing. Once the end of the year hit she gave him her number when they get to her house.

Weeks went by, after texting amd calling her and not hearing back from her he gave up. Until he saw her the next year.
