Lost love

True love

Emily has been trying to talk to Ted all day, but he has been avoiding her. Finally she got him to talk to her after gym.
"Ted please, let me explain.." Her eyes filled with sorrow. Hoping he will listen.
"Look i have tried to talk to you for weeks.. Youve completely blown me off. And too think I thought we connected last year.." Emily see slight anger and abandonment in his eyes.
"Its not what you think please just listen.." The bell rings for their final class. Ted starts to turn away before Emily grabs his arm.
"Please meet me at my locker after school.." She looks into his brown eyes hoping he agrees.
He stares into her gaze unable to resist her request. "Fine. Ill meet you." And just like that he walks away.

Emily cant help but stare at the clock waiting for the final bell to ring. Trying to think of ways to not sound so pathetic when she tells him she dropped her phone in the creek the day that school ended last year. Thinking to herself she almost misses the final bell.
After gathering her things to go to her locker, she sees Ted waiting outside her classroom. He is almost as eager as she is.
As they walk to her locker he hasnt said a word. Finally when they reach her locker he looks at her almost annoyed. "You said you wanted to explain why you have been completely blowing me off."
As the sorrow fills her eyes he can almost see embarrassment. "I promise its not what you think.. After the last day of school I went home to change and once i changed i walked down to the creek.." Hesitating she thinks of ways to tell him the truth.
He looks at her waiting for her to finish.  "And? That doesmt explain why you blew me off"
She looks down full of embarrassment. "And i had my phone in my bra while.i was climbing a tree. I wasnt even paying attention. The next thing i knew, i heard a hudge plop into the water. I check where my phone was before i realized that it had dropped in the water."
Ted hesitates for a.slight moment before realizing that she is telling the truth. Suddenly she starts laughing.
She looks at him embarrassed and slightly annoyed. "Its not funny."
He stops laughing long enough to slip out a few words. "Youre right. Its not funny." He pauses for a breif second before continuing. "Its hilarious."
As her face gets all red, she turns to walk away.
Grabbing her hand, he forces himself to stop laighing. "Im sorry, Emily. Come here." He pulls her into a hug. Holding him tightly she has never felt so safe.
Emily realized she is falling in love with Ted.

As the year went on and on. They became closer and closer. They walk home together every day. She tells him everything. Well almost everything.
After a little while she feels that they are soul mates. Meant to be together forever.
As summer comes around everything changes. Her and her sister and brother had got taken away from their dad. And move in with their mom.
Soon after Emily and Ted realized that the distant relationship they had wasnt going to work. They decided to take a break.

Years went by, Emily never went a single second without thinking about Ted. Even when she was in other relationships. She always thought about him. Until one day after she started college. Emily decided to get in contact with Ted.
"Ive missed you so much Ted. I just want to be with you. Ive never stopped thinking about you."
"I havent stoped thinkong about you either Emily."  They text and talk back and forth for weeks. But when her step dad finds out that theyre together he gets upset. They aregue and argue. Until Emily decided to move out.

Emily gave up everything for Ted so they could be together. She dropped out of college. Gave up her family. She even left therapy. But she didnt care as long as she had him.
