Five hours later, I was sitting on the roof. Yeah.

I got real bored with unpacking real fast, so I snuck off and climbed out of my bedroom window to the small section of roof that covered the sun room. It wasn't too high off the ground so I wasn't scared. Heights weren't really a problem for me.

The sun was just beginning to go down, a startling array of oranges, pinks, and yellows. I guess they weren't kidding when they said California had the best sunsets.

I couldn't help but be hopeful for this summer. I wanted to make a friend so badly, and it had to be easier here when I was no longer a social outcast. No one knew me, it was a perfect chance for a fresh start.

My phone buzzed and I looked down to see a text from my mom.

I know your on the roof. I could picture her rolling her eyes.

Come down. My old friend is here and I want you to meet her and her son.

I groaned. I wasn't really in the mood to be all social. Don't get me wrong, I was going to try for my mom, but I didn't think it would be this soon.

"Hey," a deep voice said from behind me as I was standing up.

I jumped, startled because I hadn't heard anyone coming out to join me. My foot slid out from under me and I felt myself falling, I just didn't really process it.

Not even when I landed with a dull thud and felt my arm ignite with pain before I passed out.

When I woke up in the hospital three hours later, I was not happy.

First, based on the clock next to me it was one in the morning and I was extremely tired.

Second, the idiot that made me fall off the roof in the first place right outside my room.

Third, my mom was looking at me very guilty. And that was never good.

"What is it mom?" I pushed her. My arm was throbbing, but it didn't hurt too bad, so I'm guessing I just sprained it or something.

Sighing, she glanced up at me. "Y-you have a slight concussion..." She began, trailing off.

I'd had concussions before, it wasn't a big deal. So why did she look so nervous? "And?"

"You may have broken your arm." She mumbled. My head snapped up.

No, no, no, no, no.

She had to be kidding. There was no way! My arm didn't even hurt that bad, and I really didn't fall from that high.

Wait. I fell because of the very boy that my mom had informed was outside my hospital room! "Tell him to come in here now," I growled. My mom's eyes widened in shock, but she nodded and left the room.

The bright lights against the linoleum floor was adding to my current headache, and my arm was beginning to hurt more.

Suddenly the door burst open and the most beautiful boy I had ever seen casually walked in. I mean, attractive didn't even begin to describe him. He had dark brown hair and sparkling green eyes, with gorgeously tanned skin. And he had also broken my arm.

"You." I spat, and his eyes widened for a moment, the smirk falling from his face. But he quickly regained his composure, the smile coming back to his face.

"Me," he replied with a deep, smooth voice. "Glad your so eager to see me."

"Eager to strangle you, that's what I am." I countered, and he chuckled. I felt my face heat up like it usually did when I was mad, and narrowed my eyes.
