The plane ride was tiring. I tried to get some sleep, but there was a kid sitting behind me, and he was kicking my seat. The plane had just landed at the Las Vegas airport. I got off the plane, and headed for my apartment Gran had given me. Now let me remind you, this is my first time ever being in America, and even though Gran gave me directions, and street names. I still felt very lost. I was trying to flag down a cab, but no one was paying attention to me. Gran had given me the phone number, for a person named Kayla West. Maybe I should give that a try, I pulled out my phone and dialed the number.

Someone picked up, “Hello?” The American girl said.

“Bonjour, is this mademoiselle Kayla West?” I asked

“Yes, who is this?” She asked

“My name is Athena Sinclair. My Grandmother knew your family, she gave me your number.”

“Okay?” Kayla said in a confused tone.

“I was hoping you could come by the airport to give me a ride to my apartment. I’ve been trying to get a cab, but no one is paying attention to me.” I told her. There was a pause for a moment. She sighed, “Sure, you're at the Las Vegas airport?” she asked.

“Oui.” I replied. (A/N: this mean yes, for those of you who don’t know)

“Alright, I will be there in a few.” She replied, I was about to say thank you, but she hung up before I could.

I waited for about 20 minutes when a car pulled up to the curb, and a girl and a guy got out.

“Are you Athena?” The girl asked. I nodded my head.

“I’m Kayla, this is Luke.” I smiled at them.

“Merci” I said. I put my bags into the trunk and got into the back and gave them the directions to my apartment. I watched out my window out my window and watched in awe.

“So what brings you to Vegas?” Luke asked.

I smiled, “Dancing. I really want to make it as a dancer but I can’t do that from home.”

“Why?” Kayla asked.

“Because, dancing is forbidden in my family, and my parent’s seem to think they can control what I can and can’t do.” I told them. They both nodded slowly. We pulled up to my apartment building. They helped me grab my bag’s and brought me to my new home.

“Thank you guy’s again. I could never repay you.” I said to them.

"Hey no worries. If you need any help though with finding a dance studio or even getting a group, just give me a call okay.” Kayla said, and I nodded.

After they left I got my stuff in my room, the apartment was already furnished, so I stuck my clothes in my dresser and went straight to bed.

Hey everyone, sorry it took me so long to update, I had writer’s block. I know this chapter kind of sucks, but it was the best I could do right now. Just a filler. Comment what you think.
