He’s waiting hides behind a cigarette, heart is beating loud and she doesn’t want it to stop”

“I just decided to bring you these, I didn’t know if you were going to be home, but I just stopped by” He stammers and explains nervously.

“You brought me flowers?” I ask him.

“Well yeah, what other girl would I?”

“I don’t know you just haven’t talked to me all day” I say with no conviction.  His smile goes down.

“I didn’t know you wanted me to” He seriously says

“I was just hoping you would, but you did better by bringing me flowers” I smile at him, hoping he returns the gesture.  He does and it’s even brighter.  I step closer to him, grab the flowers and hug him tightly, almost dropping the flowers.  Hugging him and being with him is what I wanted, and I didn’t know when I would see him next.  But I am glad he didn’t wait long to come see me.

“Well next time I will be sure to do both” he whispers into my ear and grabs my waist tighter, embracing the hug the way I am.

I hear Danielle leave and she clicks her door shut.  I walk over to the sink and cut the bottom of the stems off the flowers.  I start to look for a vase, but remember I am a college student we don’t have vases.

“I don’t have a vase to put them in” I tell him. Without responding he walks over to the kitchen counter grabs the empty apple Smirnoff bottle rinses it in the sink.  I am confused as to why he is doing this.  He grabs the flowers out of my hand and puts them in the class bottle.

“Wow that’s actually really pretty” Honestly telling the boy.

“You like them?”  He asks I can hear the need for approval in his voice.

“Of course I do, you are so sweet, and why did you get them?” I ask

“Well, it is sort of my way of apologizing for embarrassing you, and ease dropping last night.  It was just nice to hear you being comfortable and yourself.  I found you belting out songs amazing, it is the care free happy you.  I like you when you are happy” He explains.  I hide my face in my palms and shake my head.  I begin to laugh as he keeps going, I made a complete fool out of myself, but he liked that side of me.

“I don’t know why I did that it was foolish” I say into my palms.  He pulls my hands away from my face, and smiles at me.

“Yes, but not many people know about that side, I’ve known you for one day and I saw that side, that’s why I am here.”  He explains.  Our lips are close; I am practically eating the words that he just spoke.  I nudge closer, he doesn’t move back, he slides his hand across my hip and lands it on my lower back right above my butt.  He slightly pushes with his fingers for me to scoot closer, making the space between us almost gone.  I stay looking up at him, his mouth is closed, which never happens he is normally smiling.  He is staring back at me.  His head tilts down, my slightly up.  He starts to laugh, he is laughing unconditionally and I am confused beyond belief.  I slap his arm and he pulls me in closer, now are bodies are touching.

“Niall could you be serious, for one second” I scold him, as if he is a child.

“One second, that’s it” He responds.  He tucks my bangs behind my ear, leans back down with his mouth closed.  He tightens his grip on my back, I lay my hand on his chest.  His heart is beating furiously, his eyes are closing.  My eyes are closing, I am leaning in.  His lips touch mine.  My heart is now racing, I feel like I am going to have a heart attack.  His lips are full, and taste like cherry; a flavor I normally hate, but now suddenly adore.  He doesn’t force his tongue into my mouth, and I don’t force mine into his. We keep our lips together and I put my right hand behind his head to keep him from moving away from me.  I have a complete rush over my body; I have goose bumps from this contact with him.  He pulls me tighter now wrapping both arms around my waist.  This kiss is polite, yet passionate. There is a sense of innocence in the kiss, like he hasn’t kissed many people before.  All my senses come alive, all the hesitation is gone.  We break from each other.
