"How are you doing, Iida?" I ask the taller boy walking beside me.
"I am doing well, Abe. Are you doing alright?"
I nod, "yeah. I'm glad we have the same class. It'd be hard without someone I know."
"Yes, it's always easier when there is someone you know with you. How did your entrance exam go?"
"Pretty well, there was just a race we had to do. What about your's? I heard you had to fight robots." We enter the school building and he starts leading us towards our classroom.
"That is correct. I believe it went well. Though there was a boy who caught my eye. He saved a girl from a zero point robot even though he had no points himself. He must have realized there was more to the exam than just combat points being counted."
I hum, "that's pretty cool. He risked his own score to save someone. I wanna meet him now."
"Right, that is what you believe in. I'm sure you would get along with this boy, though he has no sense of seriousness. During the morning presentation he was mumbling and whispering with no regard for those around him. Distracting others from the presentation."
I tilt my head, "hm. That kinda sounds like someone I met a few months ago."
"We're here," Iida says.
I can hear a few voices inside the room in front of us. Different body heats as well. "Seems like there's a few people here already. Wonder what they're like..."
"I will lead you to your seat," Iida says as he opens the door, letting me inside first.
"Thanks, Iida," I say and step inside. I get a better sense of the room. Desks set up neatly to my left and a podium with a board to my right. The voices stop as we step in, I have a feeling people are looking at us.
"Good morning, it's nice to meet you all," Iida says.
I smile and give a small wave.
"Hey... it's you!" A female voice exclaims and a presence rushes towards me. I step back slightly and get a sort of image of the person.
Are those horns on her head?
"You're Abe Doll! The girl from America!" She says.
I hum and nod, "it's nice to meet you."
"Cool! My name's Ashido Mina, but you can call me Mina!"
"Alright, feel free to call me Doll," I smile.
"Will do!" She laughs. "So? What's it like being blind? How do you get around?"
I've been asked that question a lot, but the way she says it. It didn't sound taunting or rude. It's like she genuinely wanted to know. It made me smile.
"My other senses are enhanced enough that I'm able to sense objects and things around me. It's pretty complicated to explain."
"So you can, like, feel airways and stuff?" A new voice says as another female walks towards me.
I nod, "that's part of it, yes. Along with vibrations and different temperatures in the air. That's part of how I know what's around me."
"Abe's abilities are quite advanced," Iida says. "It still surprises me with what she is capable of doing without her sight."
"Can you tell us more?" Mina asks, I can feel her jumping excitedly.
I chuckle, "sure. Let me put my bag down first then you can ask questions."
"Right!"
Iida and Mina take me across the room to a desk and I set my backpack under my desk before sitting down. Two more have come up to join the join.
