Andrew McCanne.
That is the name that he was given at birth by his mother.
A name which he carries through his entire life.
A name that he chooses what it is known for.
When Andrew was born, he got most of his physical traits from his birth mother Abigail McCanne. These traits being his smooth and silky black hair and and shining blue eyes that can rival the most beautiful diamond.
He also had the stubbornness that his mother held when it came to someone helping him with something.
He was a stubborn yet adorable child. He would always find the time to play and make friends with the other kids in the town that hid behind Wall Maria called Shiganshina.
As he grew up, Andrew's dream of being a part of the Scouts grew larger and more passionate as the years passed. Then he finally made his dreams come true.
He finally got to be a Scout.
Andrew along with his friend Erwin Smith, the two who shared a brotherly bond between each other since they met when they where trainees, rose through the ranks. Erwin became the Commander while Andrew was a Lance Corporal. They used their passion for taking their land that the titains took away from them back to lead the new cadets to victory. They all knew what they where getting themselfs into.
Abigail then had another son. His name was Daniel. He had his father's dark brown hair and his mothers blue eyes. They were a happy family.
Until their father left them alone.
Ever since that day nothing was the same. His mother was mostly affected by the abandonment by her husband. The reason for his absence you ask.
He was killed while fighting against the titains.
He went on an expedition outside of the walls with his squad and a few others. But after he didn't come back with the others like Abigail hoped. She knew that he wasn't coming back.
So when she heard of the news that Andrew and his squad where going in an expedition outside of the walls, she was beyond frustrated.
"You know you can get killed out there." She would tell him.
He would only respond with "I know." everytime. The argument would continue on as Daniel watched from the doorway.
He knew nothing like this would kill him. Because if it did, it would have happened when he was still a Cadet. He had faith in Andrew. Unlike his mother.
When the argument was finished, Andrew said goodbye to Daniel and he promised that when he came back he would stay for dinner and maybe the night if he could.
He then left not knowing what was going to be waiting for him when he got back.
It was in the afternoon when he returned back to the town that he called his home. He was walking down the busy streets that where buzzing with people trying to get around so they could go home to their loved ones for the night.
Then tragity struck.
A gigantic Titian that came out of nowhere kicked a large hole in Wall Maria. The result of this happening was that the titains got into the city.
He knew that he needed to get his mother and brother somewhere safer.
So he ran.
So he sprinted.
Once he got to his house he opened the door in a hurry resulting in Abigail and Daniel being startled.
He was out of breath. But he manages to look at his mother with a desperate expression on his face.
"We need to get out of here." He pleaded.
The shaking of the monster's footsteps where more noticeable now.
They where getting close.
"Come on! We need to get you out of here! I need to get you both somewhere safe!" He exclaimed.
He then picked up his brother and waited for his mother's response.
"No." Was her answer.
Andrew was beyond frustrated at this point. He could believe what he was hearing right now.
"No? What do you mean no?! Are you trying to say that you would rather die to these things than to be here to take care and be there for Daniel?!" He proclaimed his voice rising after each sentence. Before anymore could be said between the two a gigantic hand broke through the house. Andrew then ran to gain distance between him, Daniel and the titan.
Daniel was screaming and pounding on his back begging him to save their mom. Andrew looked back and instantly regrets that choice.
He saw his own mother get eaten by the titain.
As the titian was distracted Andrew ran with Daniel in his arms deeper into the town where thousands of others where running to get to the escape zones that where set up.
Andrew had to put Daniel down because he was pounding on his back, shoulders and pulling on his hair so much that it was painful.
As soon as Daniel regained his balance and breath since he was screaming so much, he started to yell at his brother.
"Why did you leave mom like that?! Why didn't you do anything to save her?! Isn't that supposed to be your job?! To protect people from the titains?!"
"Yes it is. But I couldn't just leave you by yourself when these titians are around. You could get killed." The older male responded calmly.
Daniel did the only thing he thought of in that moment.
He ran.
He ran away form Andrew.
"Daniel!" Andrew shouted "Daniel get back here!" Andrew ran as fast as he could in order to keep track of where his baby brother is going. But he lost sight of the younger boy.
Just then he heard a cry for help from a man who was shielding his wife and daughter from the titain that was about to get them. He had to take care of it before they got killed.
So he took care of the titain and a few others that where in the area. Then he set off to find his brother.
As he was going to check the alley-way he was speaking out so that Daniel would know that it was him.
"Daniel! Daniel come on! We have to get go-...ing.." he looked on in horror as he saw his brother get eaten by a titian.
That was the last thing he wanted to happen.
He then, without hesitation, killed the titain and as soon as he did so he stumbled backwards and fell to the ground on his knees.
His entire family was gone now.
It was at this point he knew he would never be the same again.
