i had this idea mid-cry and i love how that's when i come up with all my good ideas lmaoo
^ i wish i could remember what i was crying abt but sadly i cannot
"Sir, I seriously cannot let you in for free, I'm sorry."
"Not even with my amazing looks?" The man charmed.
"No, not even with your amazing looks. Please pay." I stayed calm, as this guy wasn't doing much harm at this point, just holding up the small line.
"Fine, fine. Kuroo! Gimme my wallet." His friend with really weird hair handed him a wallet and he pulled out the money for everyone in the truck with him. "If you wanna join us later you definitely can," he winked and drove off with the tickets and change I had handed him. My face turned into a red mess as the next car pulled up and handed me the money.
I worked at a drive in, and a popular one at that. According to my coworker and roommate Kenma, those two were regulars. Apparently he even started hanging out with them during the movies, so I guessed that was why I had to work this movie instead of him.
Although, people aren't allowed in once
the movie starts, so he honestly could have worked and then met up
with them after but alright. Not gonna complain when I'm the one getting the check.Once the movie began and I put up
the "Closed for Movie" sign, I walked in. Today they were playing some romcoms, but for now it was just the commercials introducing the movie. I looked around for a place to sit and relax for awhile, and decided to head to the back like normal and sit in an open lot and enjoy my time alone. That idea was soon shut down when I saw Kenma walking up to me. "Kenma? What are you doing here? I thought you left earlier?"
"Well, I came back with the guys that are regulars here because I knew I was going to come to see them anyway, so having them just pick me up was easier. Then that weird thing happened when Bokuto flirted with you... or whatever that was... and then Kuroo, er, the bed headed guy, started saying I should invite you and interrogating me about you. In the end, despite me telling him you would rather be alone, I was forced to find you. I assumed you'd be heading to the back so hi. Also, you are very allowed to decline and I can just tell Kuroo to fuck off and leave you alone. Same with Bokuto but he didn't seem to argue after I said you probably wanted to be alone." I always thought it was funny when Kenma went on his ramblings like this, even though it was very rare. Typically he and I had an unspoken relationship and could just tell how each other felt by the way we moved, or fidgeted, or anything like that.
"Oh, sure, I'll come. It looks like all of the spots in the back are taken anyway, so I don't really have anywhere else to go," I said with a shrug.
"Okay I'll tell Kuroo to fuck off- wait what?" He looked really surprised.
I shrugged, "Let's go."
His eyes widened a bit, but then he returned to his normal resting face. "Alright, lets go. Just a warning; they are loud."
"I could tell by my first interaction with them," I smile and we begin to walk in the direction I was assuming the car was in.
It wasn't too far, just two rows back and a couple cars in. "We're back," Kenma said once we got close.
"Oya oya?"
"Oya oya oya?"
The two boys poked their heads out from the bed of the truck, and immediately looked at me. "Hey hey hey! Kenma you got him!" The guy that Kenma said was Bokuto said.
"Bokuto shut your loud mouth the movie is starting," Kenma climbed into the truck and I walked up.
I guess I looked nervous since the bed head man, Kuroo apparently, laughed at me, "Need some help getting up?"
