⚠️Really Boring for the most part⚠️

Rick had nodded his head while taking off his and sat down in the chair flipping his palm towards the ceiling. I tied the blue band just above his elbow as the vein popped out of his forearm. Taking the sterile needle into his arm he tensed and gave me a side eye. Repeating this process a good 5 times until the little girl took a seat in front of me.

She held her doll tightly to her chest I smiled down at her, " what's your name sweetie?"

"Sophia.." she held the doll even tighter, if that was even possible.

"Can I see your arm? It'll only take a second okay" I softly grabbed her left arm and flipped her palm upwards tying the blue band around the bottom of her bicep.

As soon as I took out the needle her arm recoiled " it's gonna hurt!"

Smiling at her "only for a second. It's just a little pinch, would you like Carl to show you that it doesn't hurt?"

Two birds with one stone. The little boy walked over standing in front of me "Hey kiddo wanna show Sophia how it's done? I even got some cool band aids for after."

He smiled and nodded his head while the group just looked at me with awe. Wouldn't be the first time working around with kids and hopefully not the last. Turning around I grabbed another blue band and tied it around his arm like Sophia's.

He looked me in the eyes as I held the needle to his arm "1.. 2.." I stuck it in his arm attaching the vile quickly.

"That didn't even hurt" he looked shocked for the most part I held a cotton ball over the needle putting a spider man band aid on top.

"See Sophia it doesn't even hurt I also have a cool band aid for you too."  Grabbing another sterile needle and vile I looked at her, " you ready?"

She nodded as I done the same thing to her like I did the boy  she barley even flinched, popping on her sparkly band aid I could finally get the rest. There were only for more people left to do then I could start on dinner. I finished taking the older man's blood and Sophia's mom's next up was the man that was behind me in the elevator. He smiled when he sat down already having his arm out towards me.

" I never got your name," he said while watching me tying his arm and sticking the needle in.

"(Y/N)" I replied while handing the vile to my dad and sticking the band aid on his arm.

"Shane " he said while shaking my hand smiling again he got up as the blonde woman took his place.

While I finished her she went to stand up while almost passing out I caught her and held her steady.

" You alright?" I looked at her.

Jaqui spoke up " She hasn't eaten in days none of us have"

Smiling "well lucky for you guys because it's spaghetti night."

All there faces lit up at the mention of food, especially the kids. I throw away all the hazard items and make my way to the kitchen leaving them to speak with my dad. After the water started boiling some one else entered the kitchen thinking it was just dad grabbing something I ignored it. Turning around to grab the boxes of pasta I come face first into a chest looking up it was Shane.

"I-i'm sorry," I said while backing away even though there wasn't much room to.

He handed me the boxes from the counter behind him and proceeded to sit on it. " Nah, if anything I should be sorry didn't mean to scare you"

I shook my head dumping the pasta into the water "no, no it's alright so what brings you into the kitchen?"

"Nothing really, just getting stuffy in there " shrugging his shoulders while gripping the counter.

"In that big ol' room? Well it's full of people I suppose," turning back around to look at him.

"Need any help?" that was a first I never get offered help around here.

I nodded turning back to the noodles, "Could you go set up one of the big tables? The plates are underneath you and forks and things are in the drawer on my left."

He nodded and hopped off the counter grabbing a handful of plates placing them on top of the counter. I visibly stiffened  as I felt him pressed up against my back watching him out of the corner of my eye grabbing the silverware tray. I could almost feel him grinning over my shoulder as my body tensed.

"Sorry darlin'," his accent growing thick.

I shook my head  turning the stove off, "get the table ready ill be there in a second darling"

He laughed walking back into the main room as I grabbed the pasta and sauce. Upon entering the dinning area I hear laughing as Dale is pouring wine in to each glass.

"You know in Italy Children have a little bit of wine with their dinner," he said handing Lori her glass, "and in France"

She looked at her son," and when Carl is in Italy or France he can have some."

At this point I was disinterested in the conversation.  All of their voices blurring together as I spin my spaghetti around my fork; grateful dad wouldn't scold me for "playing" with my food. As their conversations droned on I felt a pair of eyes boring into me. They didn't feel like my father's normally cold gaze. More like a stare of excitement. Peeking up between some fallen strands to see if I could catch them. "I wanna see how red your face can really get little man!" Daryl was standing up with an entire bottle of wine his cheeks flushed from said alcohol. Glenn chuckled uncomfortably as Rick stand up distracting everyone. "It seems we haven't properly thanked our hosts properly."

T-dog cuts rick off "They're more than just our hosts." A chorus of 'cheers' came from around the table as dad and I gave small smiles to the group. Daryl gave a loud 'booyah' with a couple of their members following suit.

Rick nods his head "Thank you. Thank you Doctor."

I start drowning out the sound of everyone again as Shane began questioning dad about what happened.
