DAMIEN POV:
This was it. My first day of High School. I looked at the humongous campus outside my aunt's limousine, Mayfield College, one of the best colleges in the country, and it was my first day here. I was supposed to join at the start of the year, but I had to attend an event in China with my parents for a month, which meant that I missed out on a lot.
"Okay Damien, you worked your ass off to get into this college, so don't mess up," I said to myself and took a deep breath. Taking my bag, I bid my aunt goodbye before getting out of the limousine and making my way to the principal's office.
As I walked along the corridor, a lot of people (especially girls) stared at me with their mouths wide open. Others were whispering to each other while a few guys gave me death glares. One guy wearing glasses timidly waved at me and I smiled back, while the girl behind him turned a deep shade of red. I was used to this by now. Every school that I went to, girls would swoon over me because of my good looks; while the guys would try every way possible to kick me out. They never succeed, though.
After getting my timetable, I looked at it to see what my first class was. I had Literature, and my eyes widened when realised that I was already 10 minutes late.
"Shit."
I dashed off in search of the venue for my Literature class, having no idea where I was going. Great. It's my first day and I'm already late. Just great.
After going to the wrong floor twice, I finally found my classroom on the fourth floor. I glanced at my watch. I was now 20 minutes late. Panting, I knocked on the door and opened it, and as soon as I did so, the class inside went silent for a while, before they started whispering to each other again.
"Quiet! You're the new student aren't you? I'm Mrs Yeo. Please come in and introduce yourself," the teacher at the front of the class said, looking at me with her brows furrowed in annoyance. I nodded and went to the front of the class to introduce myself.
"Hello, I'm Damien Lim, I hope we get along," I said.
Okay Mr Lim, you can sit beside Mr Wu over there. Mr Wu, please raise your hand," she said, and a guy with chocolate-brown hair raised his hand. As I walked towards my seat, people were whispering while their eyes were glued onto me.
"Isn't that the guy from earlier?"
"Yeah... I heard that he came to school in a limousine."
"Really? He must be a spoiled brat."
"Shut up, he's cute."
"Yeah, you're just jealous."
"Am not!"
"I'm going to make him mine...I call dibs!"
However, something else caught my attention. There was a girl who was sitting at the far corner of the room. She was wearing an oversized, black hoodie, and had her hood over her head, so I could only see the bottom part of her face and her black hair.
"Mr Lim, could you please make it quick so that we can continue with the lesson?" Mrs Yeo said, sounding thoroughly annoyed. Taking my eyes off the girl, I quickly walked to my seat and sat down.
"Today, I will be returning the pop quiz that we did last week. Mr Lim, here's a spare copy for you to refer to since you were absent last week," Mrs Yeo said, handing me a spare copy, and I looked through the quiz. The questions were fairly difficult, but I could have gotten most of them right anyway.
