𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗕𝗜 kept her eyes on the ground as soon as she entered Nekoma's grounds. She hung her head down low, wishing hopelessly that this day would be different than usual.
But to her dismay, it wasn't.
The female found herself on the ground, dusting her uniform in silence. "Wow, such a rare sight, seeing you here." says one of the females always humiliating her every single time she had the chance to. Hanabi didn't even know her name, all she knew is that she hated her.
She hated herself more for being so weak.
Students started gathering around her as she picked herself up, all here for the show.
Hanabi ignored the name-calling and started to walk away without a sound. Only to get her hair painfully pulled from behind. Hanabi could only hold the female's hand on her hair, trying to loosen her grip a bit. But she couldn't help but let out a whimper every time she tugged. "Running away now, aren't we?"
Hanabi laughed silently. That's what she's good at. Running away. Running and running until the bitter end. She was indeed a coward. She dared to run away from her responsibilities, and this must be her punishment.
Hanabi started to regret coming to school today. The searing pain in her scalp and the stinging sensation all over her arms and legs became too unbearable as tears slowly fell down her face. At times like this, she preferred the horrifying visits from spirits. She would just close her eyes and she wouldn't see them. What a way to start my day. Hanabi thought as the girls pushed her on the ground again.
The same time the females walked away, was the only time the other students bothered to help. Who could blame them? She wasn't special for them to risk being bullied too. "Can you stand? Let me take you to the clinic" offered one of the students.
Hanabi scoffed. She shook her head slowly and got up, "Save it. I don't need your help" she spat out. Hanabi slung her bag on the shoulder and started walking —limping rather towards the nurse's office.
The caramel haired boy clenched his fist, knuckles turning white in anger, watching her walk away again. "Yaku-san, what's wrong?" asked Lev, tapping him on the shoulder.
Yaku shook his head slowly, "Nothing. Let's go" he urged and continued walking ahead.
The other members found it strange, seeing their usually smiling senior had his brow furrowed. His cheerful demeanor was nowhere to be found, instead, he was quiet the whole morning practice of the club. Yaku received all the spikes coming his way with insane strength and accuracy, making him scarier even more so.
No one dared to ask what was wrong. Even Kuroo who was good at teasing the other members kept quiet. The volleyball club decided to take a break around 2 pm, giving Yaku the chance to drop by the infirmary from the backside of the school. "Yaku-san, want me to come with you?" asked Lev again.
"No. I can go by myself Lev" he replied shortly and picked up the pace, leaving the first year by himself. Yaku was more than sure that Hanabi is still inside the infirmary. Judging from how she limped earlier, the female was badly hurt. It made Yaku's blood boil, as he stomped on his way.
Sure enough, she was there. Laying on the bed, eyes closed, her face and neck filled with patches, her limbs wrapped in white bandages. Yaku couldn't help but feel bad for her as he stared at her unconscious figure. Apparently, the big window is just above the bed Hanabi was on.
The boy, placed a hand under his chin, the other slowly pushing away pieces of the female's hair out of her face. Yaku caressed the girl's face slowly, the strong feeling of fondness he felt the other night running through him again.
"Why are these things happening to you?" he subconsciously mumbled out.
Hanabi slowly opened her eyes, meeting the calming gaze of the boy on her. The warmth of his hand spread across her cheek. "Won't you tell me all about what happened, Koizumi-san?" he asked in a gentle tone.
Hisuch gave electrifying signals all over her body. But someone she just met yesterday isn't someone she can trust easily. Surely, the female wanted to know him better, but today had been too much for her to handle. Yaku's eyes widened, seeing the girl's eyes turned into an icy gaze. Hanabi slowly got up from her bed, "Please don't act so familiar with me Morisuke-san. We barely know each other" she stated, fitting her feet in her shoes.
The girl turned her back, walking towards the door. "Don't involve yourself with me Morisuke-san. You're better off minding your own business" said the girl, before sliding the door shut behind her.
