Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It does not dishonor others,
For the color of their skin is what is only defined by their genetics, not their soul.
For the soul was always the treading waters of the passion that kept everyone above the surface.
My partner is not to be judged by their skin.
For how pale or copper they may be.
My partner is to be judged by being a fair part of this country, under which they have the same rights as any other paler couple.
My partner has the same soul as they do.
My partner is just as much of a citizen of this Red, White, and Blue, as the Heterosexual, Caucasian pairs around us.
