The silent figure approached the two boys, only later the people in the room noticed her. In the time Jungkook and Taehyung were holding each other tight, eyes shut and skin in contact, space between them nonexistent.

The younger happened to open his eyes first, immediately fixated on his mom who stood before them. Jungkook's breath hitched, frozen at his vulnerable state as his only blood relative watched her son snuggle in another boy's arms.

The red head gave gentle kisses on the top of Jungkook's raven locks, unaware they were being watched by someone who would change their night.

"M-mom," The younger choked out.

Once the name uttered out of Jungkook's mouth the boy who was holding him jumped, loosing his grip around Jungkook's waist.

Jimin looked just as frightened, needy for any answer. Along with Yoongi and Lisa who were startled by Ms. Jeon's sudden appearance as well. After several silent seconds, she took steps towards her son— face expressionless, unable to read whatever her mind was thinking about.

Ms. Jeon stood in front of her son, her height shorter than Jungkook yet the boy felt so small, wanting to huddle in a corner, looking down to the ground to escape his mom's stare.

He was unprepared, yes. Unprepared for the scolding, the disgusted gestures his mom would make. The disappointment lingering in her eyes, the hatred she would show— he wasn't ready at all. He was in despair, wanting to get over this so he could later cry about his mother's lost love.

That was, until a hand was placed on his cheek, causing him to look up into his mom's eyes. He thought he looked stupid, worthless even: eyes red and puffy, lingering with puddles of water he didn't dare to let fall. His skin painted with pale, veins visible from the heavy burden in his chest.

"Jungkook, tell me..." Ms. Jeon's voice drifted, her dark locks falling over her eyes but not enough for them to be covered. "...How much does Taehyung mean to you?"

He couldn't let a vowel slip, his hands trembling as he chose to speak the hidden truth. "He means so much to me, I don't know what I'll do without him." Jungkook sniffed before continuing: "I'm so sorry."

He closed his eyes, "I'm sorry I'm not the son you wish you had."

It seemed that time slowed down, or completely stopped— when the boy felt his head pressed against his mom's collar, hugging him deeply. "No, you're the perfect son. I'm so happy that you're the only one, and all I want is for you to be happy."

It was then, a single tear at last found its way out— streaming down his cheek as the boy slightly collapsed into his mom's arms, sobbing into her embrace.

"I love you so much, Jungkook. You could never disappoint me," she gave a little kiss on his cheek, giving him the hope he needed for the night.

"I love you mom," he muffled.

Ms. Jeon hummed before her gaze entrapped Taehyung, her lips tugged upwards into a smile as she gestured the red head to come. With a gulp, he took steps towards her and Jungkook, holding back tears that were threatening to burst once again.

"Take care of Jungkook for me, will you?" She asked.

Taehyung beamed, bowing down slightly before answering, "Of course I will."

Jungkook's mom gestured for him to come, to give the red head a hug from another person. And so he did, feeling the love from a parent other than his own, the hug from a parent he hadn't experienced in years.

"M-mom," Jungkook cleared his throat. "So, you're okay with me liking guys?"

Ms. Jeon chuckled. "I am, you and Taehyung look cute together."
