Dabi gazed out over the view, he had left the other league members at the hideout.

They hadn't followed him when he disappeared into the shadows, they weren't that stupid.

High up on the rooftop the wind washed over him, but not only him.
The humanshape in front of him burred up his wings as protection from the cold.

"Hawks," Dabi greeted the hero who already had acknowledged his presence with a glance.

"Dabi," came the monotone answer.
Slowly the man turned around to face him, but not to meet his gaze. The gold eyed man ignored the blue eyes aimed at him with tense shoulders.

"What are you doing out here birdie?" Dabi tried to engage in a conversation.

"Enjoying my freedom," the blonde snorted, the villain couldn't tell if he was sarcastic or not.

Dabi stepped closer and when Hawks didn't stop him, he chose to take the chance and approach the man.

"The sky is beautiful tonight," the hero told him, turning to face the stars.

Dabi hummed in agreement when he sat down beside the other.

Hawks continued to ignore him and pay his attention to the clouds that slowly was running from north to south.

"You're awfully quiet today pretty bird."

A snort. "I thought I annoy you when I talk."

Dabi rose an eyebrow and Hawks smirked at him, finally meeting his gaze.

"I'm used to worse."

The blonde barked out a laugh. "Maybe I don't want to join the league, your favourite hobby seems to be talking shit about them."

"Only with the ones I think doesn't deserve their shit," Dabi smirks back and the bird laughs again.

"Aw thank you Dabs."
His face was back against the stars.

Dabi sighed internally.

"I think you should run away."

The sudden statement got the hero's attention. "What do you mean?" He asked calmly.

"Exactly what I said."

Hawks rolled his eyes. "What should I run away from?"

"Everything."

A sigh. "I wish."

Dabi looked up at him. "You can. Use your wings birdie."

The blonde frowned. "I am, everyday, I thought you knew who I was hot stuff," he tried joked.

The taller one shook his head. "Use your wings."

"I am!"

"Do I need to be even clearer? Use your wings for yourself pretty bird, they're yours. Stop letting everyone else use them, stop letting them use you." The villain looked straight into the other ones eyes. "Find your freedom."

Hawks was quiet for a while, staring at the horisont.

"Why are you telling me this? I thought you wanted to use me."

"The league wants to." He corrected him quickly.

The blonde seemed to accept the answer, not moving his eyes away from the place where the sun had disappeared hours ago.

The silence filled them both.
How could a city like this be so quiet?
Everything had stopped, only the villains and the other weird dudes were roaming the streets now.

"What does a bird do if it doesn't know how to fly?"

The question was nearly a whisper, barely surviving the wind.

Dabi answered without hesitation.

"Learns how to before it gets killed."

Hawks looked at him, his eyes deeper than ever before. "Poor bird, there's many out there that will hurt it."

Dabi nods thoughtfully before answering. "It would be safer if it let someone protect it until it has learnt."

Gold eyes locked in blue. An unspoken question, an unspoken promise.

"Yeah, it would." His bird agreed and shifted closer to the fire user. "Is heating a part of our quirk? 'Cause you sure are hot."

Dabi laughed delighted, feeling the tension wash away when the wind changed direction. "That one sucked."

The blonde shrugged and grinned at him. "You liked it anyway."

"Guess I did," he answered with a genuine smile.
