FIVE - SILENCE AND A WHIRLWIND

It had been three weeks. Three weeks without a single word from Anonymous. After I'd thanked him for the (hoodie/sweater/you know de drill), he hadn't responded. I wasn't sure if I'd been ghosted, or what.
          Until now.
It was practically 12:30 at night. Well, technically 12:27, but who cares about those little technicalities?
          'Please come outside.'
Outside? Like outside my house? It wasn't long before I'd peeked out of my upstairs curtains- and found that there was, indeed, a figure outside of my house.
'Please tell me that's you and not a murderer or something-'
I watched the figure pull a phone out of their pocket, and sighed in relief. Heading downstairs, I barely got to the door before I got my text back.
          'Come find out'
and with that, I opened up the door. ... He was wearing a mask. Now, I hadn't been expecting it, and I recoiled for a moment, but it was... Sort of hot. Was that weird to think about? To his face? Er.. to his mask?? Oh god- now I'm thinking about it-
"You're wearing the top I bought you," he commented, his head tilting slightly. That was when I realized- he must've had a voicebox stashed in his mask. He still sounded autotuned.
"... Are you coming in, or did you just come here to comment on my choice of comfy clothing?" I smiled, cocking a brow at him before stepping aside- and letting Anonymous in. Of course, part of me wanted to know his name. His face. His real voice. But the other part of me was awful interested in the sense of mystery he left behind his every move.
"Thanks," he seemed to chuckle. "My house was raided two and a half weeks ago," Anonymous admitted. "Luckily, I was tipped off an hour before, but... Most of my stuff has been destroyed."
"Oh, god," I furrowed my brows, figuring that must feel horrid. So when he set down the full backpack he had on (clearly, he had some stuff he wasn't willing to let go of), I hesitated- before hugging him from behind. "I'm sorry," I murmured, and he gave my arms a bit of a pat. After all, what else could he do? I was behind him.
"It's alright. I took most of my important documents, and the rest of it's on a few burner phones. They can try to take my data back but... It's mine now. Only the paper copies have been taken away." Anonymous claimed, and I smiled. Of course Anonymous was too damn smart to let his things be truly ruined.
"Anyways... Can I stay with you? I know the question's out of line and I'm sorry for that, but I don't really know who else to go to for now," Anon explained, and I smiled.
"Of course, I'd never say no," I assured, and he looked down to me.
          "Thank you."

With that, he'd disappeared into my guest bedroom... and had yet to come back out. I brought him dinner, and he took it into his room, before disappearing again. See, I'd leant him one of my old laptops- and he'd quickly gotten back to work.
Although that didn't upset me much. He was part of Anonymous... Of course he had things to be doing! Even with all the work to do, he still texted me once in a while.
'Thanks for dinner :)' was probably my favorite. Other than that, he was just asking me to bring him things that he didn't know if I had. Anything from a printer to... A bagel? Yes, he asked me for a bagel at three AM. With strawberry whipped cream cheese on top, specifically. That was kind of cute.
But sooner or later, I was back in bed. My dreams were erratic and unpredictable.. and sometimes, they hit hard. ... As in waking up sweaty and thinking some sinful thoughts. Now that Anon was actually here.. I couldn't, in my right mind, have a wet dream about a guy while he's in my house.
          ... But goddamn, I wasn't sure I had a choice.
