she's suspicious

Bella's pov:

Well. I can officially say that forks lives up to its name. The weather today is awful. I wouldn't have minded it so much if I hadn't fell straight on my ass in front of Charlie this morning. Stupid snow. I smile to myself once I pull into the schools parking lot and see Edward standing with his siblings. He isn't saying much just looking straight at my truck. He isn't very discreet with his staring. I see his sister Rosalie glare at me before storming off into the school. I frown and sigh to myself "great. I haven't even spoken a word to her and she already hates me" Everyone slowly follows on behind her and Edward walks over to me "good morning Bella" he says calmly. His weird golden eyes staring right into mine. I smile and mentally kick myself when I feel I'm blushing "hi" I reply shyly before he's shouted by his brother. "Have a good day" he says before running over to Emmett and going into the school.

That was weird. He was avoiding me before but he's suddenly talking to my now. I wonder why? I mean I'm nothing special. Shaking my head at the thought I meet Angela half way to class and we walk into maths together. My least favourite lesson.

5 hours earlier. No one's pov:

Edward called a family meeting. The whole family was currently sitting watching his pace around the living room. Y/n already knowing what was going on because of his thoughts. Alice already having seen what was about to happen. Rosalie was frowning beside her mate. Jasper looking extremely uncomfortable because of Edwards emotions. Carlisle and Esme looking curious and patient as always. "Edward lay off the emotions man. Your making jazz uncomfortable" Y/n says and Edward sighs out an apology before pausing and looking at each of his family members before taking a large unnecessary breath.

"There's something you all need to know. For obvious reasons Y/n and Alice already know. And I'm thankful that you both have waited until I was ready to say anything" Y/n gives a silent nod and Alice leans over to squeeze his arm in reassurance. He starts pacing again and Jasper sighs and a wave of calm fills the room. Looking over at Y/n Edward sighs. "I can't do it." He nods in understanding and stands up to go and join him brother. He looks over at him one last time. Smiling at the nod of confirmation.

"Yesterday at school we met the chief's daughter, Bella" Y/n starts to explain for Edward. "obviously none of us have seen her before and she had a couple of classes with a few of us. I met her in my Psychology class. She seems lovely." He nods and Edward smiles beside him. "she has biology with the two of us. It wasn't until then that I figured everything was set in stone. She's Edwards mate and singer. And I'm not quite sure if she is a singer for me too. But I don't think so." He says looking over at his mate. She looked angry until he mentioned the last part and then her features softened. Esme was the first to speak up.

"Edward it's amazing that you have finally discovered your mate. I know you've been waiting for over a century. No matter who she is well accept her. Always" she smiles and Carlisle nods in agreement before Rosalie stood up and started pacing around too. "great. So we're going to allow our golden child to bring a human into our family and act as if nothing is wrong. You all know the consequences of this if it all ends badly. Why would you even consider that" she snarls and Jasper looks even more uncomfortable now. Alice stands and speaks next "Rose you have to give her a chance. She's Edwards mate. You can't expect him to be stopped from seeing her. What if Carlisle and Esme banned you from seeing Y/n. How would you feel" Rosalie groans and her hands fall to her side. "that's not the point Alice. It isn't the same. Y/n was never human. Bella is. By agreeing to this were putting our lives in danger. We could be killed if the volturi find out" just then Alice gets a vision and I look over at her with raised eyebrows. "That won't happen" I say shaking my head. Everyone but Edward looks over at me. "The volturi won't kill us. They'll find out about her involvement with us but we won't be killed. She will be one of us. After graduation"
