The Chosen One POV

__________________________

Tears stream down my face as I listen to their singing. All of them sound so happy, even Dark Lord. It was so hard for me to move on, but he makes it look so easy. Pushing the covers off of me, I sit up slowly. As I make my way to the door, I find myself singing.

You say I make you nervous,

a tragedy,

I'm a beautiful disaster,

a reckoning

You wonder how I got this way

You think I'm someone to be saved,

someone to clean up and tame

Oh some things never change

never change oh

You think I would look pretty on your arm

once you cover up my bruises and battle scars

but it always ends the same

can't bear the things I've had to face

got you crying on your knees in pain

Oh some things never change

never change oh

You'll break your back to make me feel again

Suffocate to make me breathe again

Lose your mind from endless praying

some things never change

never change oh

Redemption never came

I stopped asking for forgiveness

cause you should know

only fools tread where the angels fear to go

but you kept trying to get too close

save myself by turning into stone

so save your judgment

cause you just don't know

but some things never change

never change oh

They say I should feel guilty

and change my ways

Leaving crumpled bodies in my wake

swear I didn't mean to make them break

but they're so delicate and so mundane

and they keep coming like a moth to flame

Oh some things never change

never change mm

You'll break your back to make me feel again

Suffocate to make me breathe again

Lose your mind from endless praying

some things never change

never change oh

Redemption never came

I finished the song as I left my castle and quietly went to the wifi icon to open a portal, unaware of a shadow following. Opening the portal felt easy. Flying through the wifi, I find myself at my old-no- Dark's house. It's not mine anymore.

As I enter Dark's lab, I notice something strange. Running up to the red jar, I see a small virabot inside. Shrieking, I back up against the wall.

"Chosen, we need to get out of here," I hear someone tell me from behind me. Looking around, I see Victim. It made no sense. Victim is mute.

"I know, this must seem confusing. But you need to stay away from the virabot." Victim told me sternly as he knelt next to me.

"I destroyed the virabot. How is that thing there?" I asked frantically.

"Dark made it before the mission got deleted. Dark forgot this existed. I found it one night when I was checking on him. This one is a lot volatile than the one you fought." Victim explained while keeping his voice down. Taking a deep breath, I decide to do something stupid. If they thought I was the bad guy, I have nothing to lose.

Pushing Victim away, I reach for the virabot. As I touched the jar, it cracked with red liquid dripping on me. Turning to Victim while holding the jar, I could see Vicitim look horrified.

Screeching, I can feel the virabot enter my code. Everything felt wrong as my body glowed red and changed to a mechanical red. My body ached as I felt the virabot make changes to my code with ease. Agony took over and left as fast as it came. Getting up to my feet, I see my appearance in a nearby mirror. I looked like a monster. Bright red with spikes as hands.

"Chosen, wait!" Victim yelled at me as I dashed for the door. "Chosen!" Victim yelled behind me as I reached for the door.

"This has to stop now. Whatever it is that you're going through, we'll fix it together me and you just like we've always done." Victim sang, grabbing my attention.

"No!" I yell at him, turning around. "This has to stop now. This thing where you think that you've been my friend and don't even hear how you condescend the way you've always done." I sang with ease.

"Chosen, listen"

"I'm listening"

"I know it isn't true"

"Isn't it?"

"Just look into my eyes now"

"Well?"

"I know you feel it too"

"Perhaps I do"

"Chosen, listen"

"I'm listening"

"I swear it's not too late. So before another line gets crossed and everything we've had is lost. Just...wait"

"Wait? No, I won't wait" I sang as I sang my arm to create a line of void between us.

"Chosen," Victim called after me as I left the room and ran out of the building.

"There's a line between the winners and the losers. There's a line between the chosen and the rest. And I've done the best I could, but I've always known just where we stood. Me here with the luckless. You there with the blessed. And that line between the beggars and the choosers is a line you never let me quite ignore. How I've tried to jump that great divide, but I've never got the chances you were given. You don't know how much I've been denied. Well, I'm not being patient anymore. I'm crossing the line! And I'm done holding back. So look out, clear the track. It's my turn! I'm taking what's mine! Every drop, every smidge. If I'm burning a bridge, let it burn but I'm crossing the line! And for us, if we're over that's fine!" I sing as I leave the home I used to call mine, using my powers to slowly delete the house and the area around it.

"Chosen, wait!" I hear Victim cry out to me.

"I'm crossing the line." I sing as I fly away.
