Chapter nine: bus ride

Again, Naruto doesn't belong to me...

The boys and girls had packed. Skipping first period and second period. Now onto Kurenai's class.

"Alright. We have thirty students here and the hotel we're staying at has rooms that can hold ten. But here's the problem. There are fifteen boys and fifteen girls. We could only book three rooms for students and a room for teachers. Unfortunately, five boys and five girls will have to share a room. Which five girls and five boys volunteer to share a room together?" Said Kurenai.

Hinata raised a hand. "I'll do it." She said confidently. Then Sakura, Temari, Tenten, and Ino volunteered too. "Alright, we have our five girls. And the boys?" Said Kurenai.

"Well, since the girls are my friends, I'll do it." Said Sai. Sasuke, Shikamaru, Neji, and Naruto volunteered as well.

"Alright, now that that's settled, get your clothes and toiletries. Remember, don't bring your uniforms. If you have swimsuits, bring them. If not, either deal with getting your clothes wet or just don't swim. We're staying at a beach with a nearby hot spring. You have ten minutes, go and meet at the front door." Said Kurenai. Since the Naruto, Neji, Sai, Sasuke, Shikamaru, Hinata, Ino, Sakura, Temari, and Tenten had packed the night before, they simply grabbed their bags and headed to the front door.

They were the first ones there. "Oh! You packed last night?" Asked Kurenai, who was standing at the door with Asuma and Kakashi. "Yeah, we wanted to prepare. We didn't know how much time we'd have to pack in the morning." Said Ino.
"Though a certain troublesome woman had to force me." Muttered Shikamaru. (Author's note: Obviously you know who Shikamaru's talking about. No? If so then you're behind.) "Well, you could have just listened and did it yourself like the rest of us, but you didn't. And if you didn't, you would be left behind. So of course I forced you." Said Temari.

When all thirty students were there, Kurenai counted to keep attendance, then they were told "Alright, all thirty of you are here so we will be choosing seat partners. Each seat fits two people. Choose wisely, there will be no switching seats, so if you end up with someone you later realize you don't want to sit with, deal with it." by Kurenai.

Then there was a loud commotion. "I WANT TO SIT WITH HANDSOME SASUKE!!!!" "NO ME!!" "ME!" Well, you get it. There was an argument between a lot of girls about who would sit with Sasuke. "ENOUGH!" Shouted Kurenai. "Sasuke will choose who he will sit with, now be quiet." Said Kurenai. "Since there are too many girls and I don't know most of them, Sakura is my partner." Said Sasuke firmly, as he grabbed Sakura's arm. "No fair, why does Little Miss Forehead get to sit with Mr Handsome?" Whined a girl. "Her name is not Little Miss Forehead, her name is Sakura Haruno. And besides, I don't want to sit with a girl who wears a ton of makeup anyway." Said Sasuke. Then the rest of the partners chose each other. Shikamaru and Temari, Naruto and Hinata, Ino and Sai, Neji and Tenten.

"Aright, now that you've all chosen seat partners, let's get on the bus." They all got on the bus. "Shikamaru, what are we going to do on the bus ride?" Asked Temari. "I'm just going to sleep." Said Shikamaru. "I guess I'd sleep too, since with you asleep I won't have anything to do, but I don't have a pillow." Said Temari. "Just sleep on me." Said Shikamaru. "Are you sure?" Asked Temari. "Yes, it's okay." Replied Shikamaru. "Well, have a good nap." Said Temari as she rested her head on Shikamaru's shoulder. "You too, Temari." Said Shikamaru. He then realized that she didn't hear him since she was already fast asleep. He smiled and fell asleep with his arm around Temari.

"So what are we going to do for the rest of the bus ride, Naruto?" Asked Hinata. "Well, Shikamaru and Temari are asleep behind us, wanna be evil and tease them with a picture when they wake up?" Asked Naruto. "Sure, I'm not always so innocent." Said Hinata with a small smirk. Naruto got his phone out and turned in his seat then snapped a few pictures of Temari and Shikamaru sleeping with Shikamaru's arm around Temari. Then he showed Hinata the pics. She giggled. "This is the perfect way to embarrass Temari in front of our friends, Shikamaru too." She said. For the rest of the time, they thought of a plan to tease Shikamaru and Temari when they woke up.

"Look, Neji, Hinata and Naruto are grinning and giggling about something." Said Tenten. "Let's see if they'll tell us." Said Neji. Neji took out a piece of paper and wrote 'what are you giggling and grinning about?' then crumpled the paper and threw it at Hinata and Naruto. It fell in between them. Hinata opened the paper and read it. Then she wrote something, crumpled it back up and threw it back. Tenten opened it and read Hinata's neat handwriting which read 'Naruto and I are planning how to tease Shikamaru and Temari about them sleeping together behind us, Shikamaru even wrapped his arm around Temari. Wanna help? Naruto has the pictures on his phone.' Tenten and Neji looked at the seat behind Naruto and Hinata and they were right, the two were asleep together. Tenten grinned evilly. She looked at Hinata and Naruto who were looking at them for their answer. Tenten nodded. So did Neji. Tenten wrote 'we'll do it at the hotel.' and threw it back after re-crumpling it. Hinata caught it and read it. Then she looked at Tenten and nodded.

"Sai, is there anything you want to do while waiting for us to get to the hotel?" Asked Ino. "I hope you don't mind, I'm just going to draw you and maybe Shikamaru sleeping with Temari." Replied Sai. Ino looked at the seat next to them and indeed, Shikamaru was sleeping with Temari. "Hurry up and draw them, I have something I want to label them with." Whispered Ino excitedly. Sai started drawing them. Fifteen minutes later, he tapped Ino's shoulder and handed her his sketchbook. She looked and saw a black and white drawing of Shikamaru and Temari sleeping. She compared it with the real ones. It looked exactly the same. She wrote the word 'ShikaTema' in a fancy, curly font under the picture. "Can you color it?" She asked, handing him the sketchbook back. He nodded and colored it. A few minutes later, he showed Ino the finished product. She smiled and said "It's perfect. Can you make two or three more copies?" "Sure, I'll do it later, for now, I'm going to draw you. When I'm done and if we still have time, I draw three more copies though you'll have to write 'ShikaTema' yourself, I can't copy your nice font." Said Sai.

"What do you want to do? There isn't much to do on the bus." Said Sasuke. "I don't know. Maybe just talk?" Said Sakura. "Okay. Let's start with family. I have an elder brother named Itachi. My parents, Fugaku and Mikoto, and the rest of my family, except my brother, were killed years ago. Itachi killed them." Said Sasuke. "I'm sorry about your family. I'm an only child, my parents' names are Mebuki and Kizashi." Said Sakura. They talked for a while before taking a break for like thirty seconds then continued.
