I know life has been hectic and our schedules have made it hard to spend quality time together. I had thought to surprise you, so I decided to skip classes today.

I was surprised when you said you had class today. I accepted your words, as I believed them to be true.

I saw you with your lover at the cafe just outside of town.

I saw you hug them the way you used to hug me.

I saw you kiss them the way you used to kiss me.

I saw you softly glide your hand against their face.

I think I could have forgiven you, even this because I love you.

But you told them you loved them. I saw them reply, "I love you too."

You told someone you loved them who wasn't me.

I knew I was never good enough for someone like you.

I wanted to dream that I was enough.
