The male sat back in his car debating if he was gonna answer the phone. His godfather been calling and bugging him all month about him getting a real job. Truthfully he wasn't really ready for a 9 to 5. He was literally in his 20's so he wanted to live it good. Derrick his godfather had always been looking out for Mon and Ace, he tried to stir the in the right path but Derrick could only do but so much. He had decided he was gon answer."Yea Rick, wassup? You good." The male played stupid. He knew why Derrick was calling he was just hoping he was wrong.
"When you gonna come and work at the spot. You aint got nothing else good to do but fight and get drunk.. slowly killing ya liver" Montae felt himself get heated at his father figure words. He heard this shit almost every damn day. Someone always tried to tell him what to do. He was fed up with it. He wanted to live his life the way he wanted. He didnt need to be fix but everyone wanted to try and do that.
The Spot was a place you could go to chill with no worries. In Baltimore there wasnt much good places you could go to escape the harsh reality. It had a gym , lor cafe, dance room, game room, little classrooms, a daycare, and a library. It was the one spot some kids felt free to be themselves. Derrick owned the place.
"Rd yo damn! I'll see you tomorrow morning at 11." Mon shouted over the phone.
"You dont ma-" The male honestly didn't want to hear what the other male had to say so he hung up.
He had pulled into his mother's street. He parkerd in front of the blue stoned house and got out. He planned on dropping his brother money off and leaving.. He unlocked the door and called out for his brother.
"Boy what the hell I tell ya light bright ass about coming in here all damn loud. My stories on" Barked his mother. He rolled his eyes and still have yet to see his brother appear.
"Yea yea. Where Dell, he aint home or sum."
"No he not. He with his lor friends. And why the hell you so damn skinny boy turn around let me see" momma said trynna inspect me. She always on some nut shit when I come over.
"Nahh chill ma, I love my weight. But this the money for his trip" I said and gave her 70. "I still don't know why they taking a bunch of 7 and 8 year olds to a baseball game for"
"Where you get this money from boy" She smacked me in the back of my head. I sucked my teeth which caused her to hit me again. DAMN mama got a good right hand. "My son dont need no damn drug money.. Just like ya damn father."
"Ma its not even drug money. Im not out on the corner selling like dad was. Stop putting his wrongs on me. I never sold anything and you know that" The boy started getting mad and the topic of his bum ass father made it worse.
"I dont know shit boy. You moved out got ya self a car and a house. Only call or come over when you want something. You never call and just check up on us. " she argued back. Maybe she forgot who exactly paid her bills and put her in a new car. But he didnt feel like hearing it anymore so he got up and walked out the house. His mother always criticized him on everything he has done. Montae knew the way he made money wasnt the right way but if it was one thing Montae knew how to do.. it was fight. So he literally fought for money. Its not like he was selling drugs that ruin people life.
He hopped into his Lexus LS and pulled off. It was around 8 sum so Montae went home to freshen up and put on some new clothes. He didnt feel like going after the day he had but he promised his cousin.
