Ch. 2 : Party Invite

(A/N): Marcus aka "Phantom" in MM

~Melonie~

When we pulled up to Marcus's house , I was in complete shock . Not because it was huge , but it was just a regular looking suburban house .

"M- Marcus !?" I called , stuttering like an idiot .

"M- Melonie ?!" he mocked .

"Your house !"

"Yeah . What about it ?" he asked , getting out the truck .

"It's not what I expected at all !"

"What did you expect ? A big ass mansion ?"

"Well ... yeah ," I answered truthfully .

"Nahh , I kept it simple . I ain't into all that big house , 5 cars , gold & shit ." He got the stuff out the back & walked up the pathway to his house . He walked all the way up to his door then stopped & looked at me . "You comin' in , Mel ?" he asked .

"Okay , you wanna eat first or shower ?" he asked after putting the food down on the white marble counters .

"Mmmmm , shower !"

"Okay ," he said coming towards me .

"What are yo --- Ahhh , Marcus , stop !" I yelled & laughed . Before I knew it , he was carrying me up the steps over his shoulder .

When he finally set me down , I was in a bathroom . "Twank yew ," I said in a baby voice .

"Yew berry welcomb ," he replied in a baby voice , as well . I smiled then shoved him out the bathroom . "Wait ! You ain't even got your clothes ," he protested .

"Well , just put them in your guest bedroom & I'll get it from there ," I told him then went back to pushing him out .

~Marcus~

After I was kicked out of the bathroom by Melonie , I went back down to the kitchen & started cooking . I decided to make spaghetti .

20 minutes later , Mel came down looking for her clothes . "Marcus ," she whined , " where's my clothes ?" I looked at the counter & there was another bag that didn't have food in it .
"There ." I pointed to the bag . She mean mugged me while tightly holding onto the towel that was wrapped around her damp body . She stuck her tongue out at me as she made her way up the stairs . I watched her ass as it switched with every step of the way . Damn , the things she does to me .

10 minutes passed & she finally came back down fully clothed . The spaghetti was almost done , all I had to do was add the sauce . Once I did that , I put the spaghetti on a plate , got two bags of chips , & two glasses of pink lemonade .

"What movie you wanna watch ?" I asked her . I set the food down & handed her the bag of movies I bought . She pulled out Beyond the Lights & smiled at me . Honestly , I wanted to see that , too . As I put the movie in , Melonie said , "This looks amazing ."

30 minutes into the movie , Melonie was sleep . She had eaten a few chips , half of her spaghetti , & drank a little bit of her lemonade . I heard her snoring lowly & smiled . Her head was rested on my chest & her chest moved up & down slowly . She looked so at peace .

I looked at my watch & noticed it was nearly 5. Dang, I gotta get ready for the party & see if Mel wanna go. Shii, I gotta wake her up.

"Mel.. Melonie. Mel-On-Ieeee. MELONIE!!" I yelled.

"Damn. What you want?" she asked annoyed.

"Wake up. I gotta get ready & I wanna ask you something."

She rolled her eyes. "What?" somebody doesn't like being woken.

"Do you want to go to a party?" I asked getting up.

"Sure," she said sitting up. "Can I bring my friend?"

"Yeah." I nodded.

"Casual or formal?" she asked gettin up from the couch.

"Casual but something for a party."

She nodded & helped me clean our plates up. When we were finished cleaning, she ran upstairs to get her stuff. When she came back down, she was on the phone with someone.

~Phone Convo~

Melonie : Aye, I was with my friend *says it funny* today, but my parents don't know. He finna bring me home so if my parents ask where I been, Imma say with you. The lie is "We went to the mall to chill & talk & these girls were starin' at us so we spoke up & ended up gettin' into a fight. After all that, we went to your house & chilled. Got it ?

Someone : ...

Melonie : Aight good but I got another question ..

Someone : ...

Melonie : You trynna go to a party tonight .. ?

Someone : ...

Melonie : Aight bet . I'll pick you up .

Someone : ...

~End of Convo~

I got up & started towards the doors with Marcus behind me .

We got into his truck & headed to Kayla , my best friend aka the girl I was on the phone with , house . I have him the address already so he know where he going .

*15 minutes later*

We pulled up to Kayla house & before I could get out he grabbed my hand & said , "Dang . No 'I had a good time , hug & kiss , bye' ? Mean , ass ," he pouted .

I flicked his bottom lip & then gave him a kiss on the cheek .

"Nope . You still not leaving . Lips ," he said .

I rolled my eyes & gave him a 5 second kiss & got out before he could ask for more . "Bye !" I yelled walking to the house . I called Kayla & let her know I was outside . She came out a minute later & took me home .

"Aight so where the party gonna be at ?" she asked .

"Shii , I don't know . He'll text me the stuff later ."

"Aight , Mel . Who is he ?" She smiled .

Geez I could feel myself blushing . "Alright . His name is Marcus . He's 22 & I met him at Reeve's ," I smiled .

We pulled up to a stop light & she turned to look at me with a questioning look .

"What ?" I asked .

"He's 22 .. He better have a job ," she said raising her eyebrow .

"Mmmm .. Something like that .." I trailed off .

"Something like that ?!" she yelled . "Bitch , what's his occupation ?" She asked .

"Street ," I barely whispered ,"pharmacist .." I said .

"A who pharmacist ?" She said turning on my street .

"Street .." I repeated .

"Melonie Shay Washington , I know you ain't done got yourself caught up with a nigga from the streets ."

"..." I just sat quiet .

"Oh my lord . Your parents are going to flip , Mel ."

"You sound like them ," I said .

"Shut up ," she laughed , mushing my head .

"Secret ?" I asked .

"Definitely ," she said hugging me .

See , Kayla is like the big sister I never had . We treat each other like big & little sister even though we're best friends .
