The Life and Times of a Real Pokemon Trainer (Pokemon Short Story)

On the Road to Rustboro!

After he caught me, he healed me up in the PokeCenter. He then let me out of the PokeBall and he told me his story. Come to find out, his parents died in an airplane crash while they were heading to the Kanto region. I guess they had some business there. This happened right after he let me go that day, and he's been taken care of by his butler this whole time. He told me his name was Zain. He then brought out his Torchic and he introduced his Torchic to me. Both me and his Torchic smiled, knowing we were going to be best friends forever.

So, after we stocked up on Potions at the PokeMart in Petalburg City, we headed off to Petalburg Woods, making our way towards Rustboro City. He had both me and his Torchic out of our Pokeballs, to enjoy the fresh air. As we went towards the Woods, we came across a couple trainers. Among them was a trainer using a Seedot, an acorn looking Pokemon. All he had his Seedot do was Bide and Harden. When he had his Seedot use Bide, Zain told both of us not to hit it, telling us to just use Growl when it did. It's a nice strategy to combat the move Bide. I fell in love how Zain knew strategy!
 

We then came across a Lass using a Zigzagoon. It put up a good fight, with me fighting it. We both were getting tired, and that's when the Lass used a Full Restore on her Zigzagoon. That's when I heard Zain say "Why would you waste a Full Restore? It's not even confused or anything, just low on health." He came up to me and sprayed my with a Potion, rejuevinating me. The rest of the fight went on, me being the victor, using Confusion.

We then entered Petalburg Woods. It was full of lots of trees everywhere, dense and thick. We walked little ways into it, immediately being seen by a Trainer. And by the look of the Trainer, he loooked like a Bug type Trainer. He challenged us to a battle, sending out his Wurmple. Zain told me to get in the battle cuz I need some more experience. After I defeated 3 of his Wurmples, Zain said, "They'd be a whole lot better if they fully evolved, don't you think?" to the Trainer. I smiled. I'm surprised Zain knows his stuff!

After the battle, Zain went in the grass. Presumably he was looking for another Poke for our team. After a while, after a few Wurmples, Shroomish and Zigzagoons, he came across a Slakoth, a small sloth Pokemon. He had Torchic fight it. Torchic used Scratch, weakening it a bit. Then Slakoth used Yawn, which made Torchic a little drowzy. Torchic used another Scratch, nearly fainting the Slakoth. Zain the got out a PokeBall and threw it at the Slakoth, trying to catch it. The PokeBall wiggled a little bit, the little dot in the middle going red, then stopped. "Guys, we got another friend!" Zain exclaimed to me and Torchic, all of us smiling.

 A little way after, we came across a scientist in the middle of the forest. He told us, "Hello, I'm looking for a Pokemon called Shroomish. Have you seen any? It's my favorite Pokemon."

"Actually, I have. I ran into some when I was looking for a Slakoth." Zain replied back.

All of the sudden, a guy that had a blue and white striped shirt, blue bandana and black cargos came up to us.

"Hand us the goods professor, and we won't hurt you." the guy said.

"Who the crap are you?" Zain asked.

"We are Team Aqua," he said while he posed, "and we want to cover the world in water!" the guy said.

"Save me from this guy!" the professor said as he hid behind Zain.

"Are you gonna fight his battles for him little runt?" the Team Aqua guy said to Zain.

"First of all, I'm not a runt. Second, I'd be more than happy to help out good samaritans!" Zain exclaimed.

"Fine then, let's get this battle started! Go, Poochyena!" the Team Aqua guy said.

"Let's go Torchic!" Zain exclaimed as he sent out Torchic.

"Torchic, use Ember!" Zain told Torchic. Torchic shot a flame of fire from its mouth at Poochyena.

"Poochyena, use Howl to raise your Attack!" the Team Aqua guy said.

"Why waste a turn to not attack? Baffles the crap outta me," Zain asked, "Let's finish this Torchic! Use another Ember attack!" Torchic shot another flame of fire at Poochyena and Poochyena went down.

"You win this round runt," the guy said as he returned his Poochyena back to its Pokeball, "now I gotta tell the boss. Well, I'm on my way to the Devon Corps to take the Devon Goods. You havent seen the last of us!" and he rushed off.

"Thank you for saving me," the scientist said, "as my thanks, take this Great Ball." the scientist hands Zain a blue Pokeball. "Wait, what did he say? Did he say he's going to the Devon Corps to take the Devon Goods? I gotta go!" he said as he rushed out of the woods.

"Well, that was interesting, wasn't it guys?" Zain said as he looked at us. We nodded in response.

We continued on, making our way out of Petalburg Woods and into Rustboro. We fought another Bug type Trainer on the way out, this time Torchic battling. After the battle, we finally made it to the edge of the Petalburg Woods, and we walked into Route 104 North. As we walked into the Route, we walked into a house. There were some ladies giving out free beriies, and Zain got a Wailmer Pail. The ladies told us to use it to water the berries we planted. They also said they wanted to see the world full of blooming flowers. Then Zain told them thanks for the berries and we walked out of the house. We weren't at Rustboro yet, seeing some trainers to pass until we got there. We fought the trainers both me and Torchic, each gaining a couple levels. Me and Torchic fought together in a duel battle, and it was great. I was having fun.

We finally made it to Rustboro. The sun was setting in the distance, with bright orange and red colors. Zain yawned, and rubbed his eyes. Me and Torchic both yawned afterwords.

"Let's say we stop at the PokeCenter for the night guys, then we'll continue in the morning." Zain told us. We headed straight for the PokeCenter, went into a room, and we passed out, today being a very interesting day. Both me and Torchic slept with Zain, each one of us on different sides. I cuddled up with him...
