January 1992
Ever more shall I
walk in sunlight,
never again imprisoned by darkness,
free of the heartbreak and strife,
looking only forward,
turning my back on the past.
It shall live only
in the palest of memories,
stored deep within my mind.
I shall build a new future.
I shall live for the day,
only for myself.
My armor is once more in place
and shall only be removed
when the world
can be survived
by my naked soul.
