I love you
'Hey babe,' he slurred. Drunk again. I didn't reply.
'Aww babe, you just want a kiss, don't you?' again, I didn't reply. He took it as a yes. He stumbled his way over to the other side of the apartment where I was and pressed his face against mine. The only thing I could taste was alcohol, bitter alcohol. I accepted the kiss anyway knowing that this was one of those moments I have to savour. So, I moved my lips in sync with his and latched my arms around his neck leaning into him. In response, he wrapped his burly arms around my waist pulling me flush against his body and quickened the pace of his lips. With the fear of losing him, I increased the speed of my lips to match his. My heartbeat was going haywire and I thought I was going to explode with happiness that I finally got to feel his affection.
He took a step back, while keeping his arms around my waist, and stumbled bringing me down to the floor with him. His lips pulled away from mine and I mentally pouted. The hearty laugh coming from the man underneath me echoed around the bare, modern room. I took in the rare sight of Jake laughing and my lips took it upon themselves to curl upwards into a slight smile. Lifting myself up from the ground, I dusted myself off and helped him up because he was clearly still intoxicated.
We managed to settle down on the huge white sofa in the middle of the room, his arm around my shoulders and me cuddled into his side. I inhaled his musky smell and sighed in completeness. If only it was like this all the time.
'I love you,' he whispered, drifting off. Soon he was asleep and I softly whispered back,
'I love you too.'
