I sat in my green Subaru Outback down the street from Alicia's house. I was just waiting for Jace to leave so I could talk to her. She blocked me on everything, even her phone, so I've had no way to contact her. I've been so worried about her and I need her to know that Jace is lying and he's not a good guy. I mean okay, maybe I won't bring that up because she'll just believe him over me. But maybe I'll just apologize for what I didn't do. Because I needed to be back in her life no matter what it takes. I needed to be able to protect her. I've been waiting to talk to her for awhile now. I decided to wait and let her cool off and give her some space before trying again. I looked up as I heard a car start. I saw Jace pull out of the driveway and down the street the opposite way of me. Seizing my opportunity I got out of my car and ran down the street to her house. I went up the front steps and rang the doorbell. A minute later the door opened and there Alicia stood, wearing a pink floral dress. She looked tired and had a frown on her face. "Ben? What are you doing here?" She asked me. I smiled.

"I just wanted to talk, please?" She opened the door further and motioned for me to come in. I followed her into the living room and the two of us sat on the couch. She closed her eyes.

"Jace won't like that you're here." She stated.

"I know, and you don't have to tell him." I paused. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah I'm just tired." She responded.

"Okay Alicia. Just please hear me out. I'm sorry. I'm sorry for what I said and did, I didn't mean any of it okay. I was just upset that you had a boyfriend and I wasn't used to you not spending as much time with me. I was upset and said things I 100 percent didn't mean. Please forgive me? I miss you. I've tried calling but you blocked me. I even went to your work and they told me you left. I thought you loved that job?" I asked her. She opened her eyes and shifted uncomfortably on the couch.

"Well Jace has a full time job and said I didn't need to work because he would support us. He convinced me to leave so I left." I frowned.

"Oh." There he goes again, being controlling. She definitely needed me. "So how are you? How have you been?" She smiled.

"I've been good. Things are great. Jace and I are great. He cares about me a lot." She paused. "Ben, I forgive you. But Jace can't know. We can talk and hangout but he can't ever find out. There's no way he'll forgive you for what you did. He cares about me too much." I nodded.

"Okay deal." Her phone rang and she answered it.

"Hey Jace! What's up?" I heard muffled talking on the other end. "Oh okay! See you in a minute." She hung up the phone and turned to me.

"Jace is coming back. Go out the back door. You'll just have to cut through the neighbors backyards. Go now!"
