Saving The Stone

I suffered from hiccups while writing this. Thats all.

Y/N POV

We were walking in the halls, on our way to see Hagrid.

"So we already discussed that Fluffy was standing on the trap door, but what comes next?" Hermione asked.

"Well, maybe its some sort of.. puzzle? Or an obstacle course? The stone is really powerful so I doubt they would just let us walk up to it." I replied. We got to Hagrid's hut and knocked on the door. He opened it and we made our way to sit at the table.

"Hagrid, what is that?" Harry asked, motioning to a round thing in the fire. He pulled it out and set it in front of us.

"That- thats a dragon egg!" I said. I've always wanted a dragon, even before I knew they were actually real.

"Yer right, Y/N. This 'ere is a dragon egg! I got it off of some guy wanderin' around. He asked me all sorts of questions 'bout Fluffy an' stuff. Seemed really interested 'bout how I get 'im ter sleep. Simple, I said! Just play some soft music an' there ye go!" He said.

"Hagrid, don't you think its a little bit strange for him to ask all these questions about the thing thats guarding the stone? He literally asked you how to put it asleep!" Harry said.

"It was probably Snape!" Ron said. All of a sudden, the dragon egg started cracking.

"Its a Norwegian Ridgeback dragon! My brother Charlie works with some of these in Romania!" Ron said. It looked towards me and tilted its head. I smiled and patted its head.

"'Ey, whats that?" Hagrid asked, looking out of the window. We turned around to see Draco jumping down from the window.

"Malfoy!" Harry hissed. We all quickly said our goodbyes to Hagrid and ran out of the hut. Unfortunately, McGonagall stopped us before we could get inside the castle. She gave all of us a detention. I was pretty mad until I found out that Draco had detention too. Then I just laughed at him.

Time Skip----------

We were all sitting around in the common room until I decided to speak up. If Snape is actually going to take the stone, then we need to do something about it.

"Guys, I think we should go save the stone." I said

"What? Right now?" Ron asked.

"Yes, right now! If Snape is going after the stone, then we shouldn't wait around. We already know that Fluffy is guarding it so all we have to do is get passed him and figure it out from there."

"I agree with Y/N. Lets go now, so he doesn't have time to steal it." Harry said. We quickly walked out of the common room after freezing Neville and sped through the halls. Finally, we reached the door that had the beast inside of it, so we took a deep breath to brace ourselves. Hermione quietly opened the door, only to find that the dog was sleeping to the sound of soft music.

"Look, Harry! Snape's already been here! We have to hurry." Ron said. We all ran over to the trap door.

"What are we going to do about the paw?" Hermione asked.

"We're going to have to move it." I said.

"What?!" Ron yelled.

"Yes, Ron. Hurry up before-" I got cut off by scream from Hermione. Thats when I noticed that the music had stopped playing. I slowly turned around to find the dog growling at us. I knew what I had to do.

"Guys, get in the trap door!" I yelled running across the room waving my hands over my head. The dog immediately focused its attention on me.

"No, Y/N! You're crazy if you think we're going to leave you here!" Harry yelled.
