Violet told me about the plan to make a run into town.

We all ate breakfast rather quickly, then we geared up and drove into a small town about a mile from Ambers home. Kaleb and James drove ahead, telling us to stay put while they checked ahead.

They came back give or take 10 minutes later and said it was all clear for now. We then drove to a day care center in the center of town. James kicked open the door, Kaleb and Ky stormed in stealthily. Ky carefully and quietly killed one Crazy then we all went in.

(Austin stayed behind to take care of Jack.)

We grabbed a crib set, multiple blankets and toys 14 containers of formula, 7 boxes of cereal along with 6 baby bottles and 2 pacifiers when we heard a muffled bark and meow.

Kaleb walked over to the closet and opened it and found a puppy and a kitten cuddled up. She picked them both up and then we all got to the car and went to a small convenience store and cleaned it out and made sure to grab dog food and cat food.

"Crazies. Let's go." I grabbed Violet and ran out but one scratched both of us. We continued to run until our lungs burned.

"They scratched us, we're going to turn." Violet says, her voice dripping with horror and fear.

"Get in the car, we can help you." Kaleb yells.

"No, you need to keep Jack safe! We will lead them away, ok just keep Jack safe." Violet says. And we walk towards the herd of Crazies. I could here Kaleb screaming in the background but I never looked back.

I just kept running with Jacks sweet and innocent smile imprinted in my mind.
