Hands reached out to grip my arms and haul me halfway out of the water. I hunched over and tried to cling to the concrete that surrounded the indoor pool.
I tried to talk but only water surfaced from my throat. My lungs burned like never before and I started seeing hazy spots.
"I," gasp," hate," heave," you," then scary amount of water mixed with saliva came out of my mouth.
I saw through my wet eyes that Grayson squatted down next to me looking thoughtful. "You're hopeless. You're survival instinct didn't even kick in. You just sank." he paused to collect his thoughts. "I've never seen that happen before."
With shaky limbs, I haul myself out of the water fully. I scramble over to where my towel is and wrap it around myself like a straight jacket.
"So you push people into pools often?" I said with a razor glare. He rolled his eyes and I urges to poke him in the eyes.
"Please. I just needed you to get used to the water." he shrugged.
"Should have worn my floaties," I muttered as I toweled out my hair.
"What was that?"
"I said you're a jerk face." I called over my shoulder.
Grayson chuckled, "See you tomorrow," he called over his shoulder.
I hastily changed over my clothes, not caring that I was still damp, and stomped out of the double doors muttering something about a certain stupid sociopath.
