Chapter 3

"What? No bikini?" Grayson asked as I stood in front of him. I tried to hide my blush by shoving him on the shoulder.

I was wearing a one piece because I refused to wear a bikini in front of him. It was snug in most places, but it was the best I could do when shopping second hand.

"What? No speedo?" I shot back.

He rolled his eyes. "Anyway," he dragged out, "I figured the first step was getting into the pool."

We were standing by the school's indoor pool that was conveniently empty so nobody would see my guarantied embarrassment. Sadly, the principal decided that a life gaurd wasn't needed considering I'm taking lessons from the swim team captain.

So there was a slight chance I could drown, and he could leave me to die.

          "Okay." I said shakily.

The bad thing about this pool is that it was made for swim racing, so there was no low end. It was all deep.

I walked towards my bag and pulled out floaty that barely fit around my waist. I stepped into it and turned around to see Grayson mumbling something to himself.

"What in God's name are you wearing?" He eyed my floaty.

I wrapped my arms around it, and instinctively went into a defensive stance. "I haven't been a pool in three years," I mumbled, "so I figured I could take baby steps."

Grayson raised an eyebrow. "But you're not a baby. You're a senior in high school. You-"

Feeling frustrated, and like I was about to throw up, I cut off his rant. "I pay you by the hour, so can we get a move on?"

"Sure. But without that stupid thing." He walked over and pushed it down my hips.

He ushered me over to the edge, and in the middle of my panic, I gripped his hand. "If you push me in I swear.." I squeezed him tighter.

He laughed a little. "You'll what?"

         "I don't know, but I'll do some-"

I was cut off when Grayson yanked his hand out of mine and shoved me into the water.
