Gracie and Maddie finally met in the park after their tryouts. They start talking about their tryouts immediately as they walked towards Gracie's house.

"Hey, Maddie! How did soccer tryouts go?" Gracie asked excited to tell her the great news.

"Oh, it went great! I think I did really well and I think the coach was really impressed. What about you?" Maddie replied.

"Oh my gosh! It went great! the coach already told me I'm guaranteed a spot on varsity!"

"Oh my gosh, that's amazing Gracie! I'm so happy for you!"

"Thanks! also, as I walked out, I saw this dude staring at me, and he watched my tryouts." Gracie said kind of concerned.

"Oof. what did he look like? maybe I can identify him for ya." Maddie said trying to be as helpful as possible.

"Ok, so, he had straight black hair, ocean blue eyes, tall, probably about 6 ft. he was wearing a red shirt, black jeans and vans with flames on them. and he wasn't too bad to look at if you know what I mean" Gracie said as she giggled and blushed a bit.

"haha, I know what you mean. doesn't ring a bell though. maybe he is new or something."  Maddie said trying to be helpful once again.

"yeah, I don't know. really weird that I saw him so many times though. I really want to know who he is." Gracie said kind of disappointed.

"Well looks like we will be on a mission. I'll definitely be on the lookout tomorrow at school." Gracie said as she laughed.

"haha yes! and I will be too!" Gracie said as she laughed as well.

The girls walked and talked some more and were laughing so much and so loud the whole neighborhood could probably hear them. Gracie started getting a weird feeling all of a sudden. As if someone was watching them or following them. she stopped, leaned over, and whispered to Maddie;

"hey, I think someone is following us or watching us. It's really weird."

"Yeah, I was starting to get that feeling too," Maddie said starting to get really uncomfortable all of a sudden.

"Ok let's hurry up and get h-"

Gracie was suddenly stopped. She saw those flamed vans out of the corner of her eye again. She quickly turned around to the bushes and saw that they were moving. Gracie leaned over towards Maddie again,

"I think its that dude that was watching my tryouts. I saw a glimpse of the shoes and its the same ones as I saw on the dude after my tryouts. I think he's behind those bushes over there" Gracie pointed to the bush to their left across the street.

"um ok. ok. you want to go over there and see? or just run home because this is really freaking me out." Maddie said really nervously.

"Yeah, I don't like this. let's go." Gracie said because all she wanted to do was get rid of this feeling that someone was watching her. She didn't like it.

So the two girls sprinted home in hopes that the person following them would not follow them anymore. They both stopped in the driveway out of breath but relieved because they were pretty sure that no one was following them anymore.

"well that was something," Maddie said trying to lighten the mood.

"haha yeah, it was," Gracie said still kinda shaking and in shock from what just went down.

The girls then went inside to get something to eat and go upstairs and Maddie was gonna start helping Gracie unpack.

"Ok so I can't help but talk about this but we have such a strange connection," Maddie said as she started to remove the tape from one of the boxes on the floor.

"Yeah, I agree. The way we connected so well from the start but we are polar opposites." Gracie said.

"Really strange haha. But I'm glad we found each other! I see a great future of us as best friends" Maddie said as she winked at Gracie.

"Oh of course! This is gonna be the best next few years of high school ever!!" Gracie said as she was really looking forward to these next few years with her new best friend.

The girls continued to unpack and laugh and talk about basically anything. There was nothing Gracie and Maddie didn't talk about. they never ran out of anything to talk about. But, it really was strange how opposite they were...even on the outside. Gracie had long dark brown hair, hazel/green eyes, and she was fairly tall...for a girl at least. She wasn't what you considered the normal standard of pretty, but she wasn't hard to look at either. She didn't get all the guys but that was mainly because of how awkward she was. She didn't really care for a boyfriend. She never really stayed in a place long enough to have one either. She would love the comfort of one, but none of the guys shes ever met or seen stand out to her enough.  And then Maddie. Maddie had long shiny blonde hair, she had those beautiful blue eyes, and she was the perfect height for a girl. she was around 5'4 maybe. And Maddie was gorgeous but she doesn't realize how beautiful she really was, which makes her even prettier. There were a lot of guys that would kill to date her but she only wants the one guy who doesn't want her. Logan. Logan Williams. He barely knows she exists.

"I wish it would rain more in Washington," Maddie said kind of upset.

"aww that sucks. I love rain. It's so much fun." Gracie said disappointed because it didn't rain a lot in Alabama either.

"Yeah," Maddie said.

"I wish I could just wave my hands in the air and it start raining" Gracie then waved her hands in the air as a joke but coincidentally it started to rain.

"Wait oh my gosh! Gracie it's starting to rain! How did you do that?!" Maddie said really excited but confused at the same time.

"Oh my gosh! I have no clue how I just did that!" Gracie said also confused at excited at the same time.

"Well, what are we waiting for!? Let's go play in the rain!" Maddie said as she ran downstairs.

"Coming!" Gracie said

Gracie decided to stay back for a bit. she had a weird sensation come over her. almost as something was being activated in her body. little does she know, she was activating her powers that she will soon find out she has. she then ignored the feeling and ran downstairs to join Maddie in the rain.
