"Draco." She called. "Draco."

"I'm here." He called back.

"I'm scared." She said.

"It's ok Mione. We are going to get out of this together." He replied.

Hermione and Draco lived in apartments right next to each other as well as living with their parents. After the war, the Death Eaters burned down the Granger's home and killed Hermione's parents. She moved in with her father's sister. The Malfoy Manor was destroyed by the Ministry, so they had to get an apartment.

Draco and Hermione became secret friends during this time. They have been talking to each other about things even their closest friends didn't know about.

They told each other about their childhoods and things they did growing up. When they became close friends, Hermione finally told Draco the one thing that was slowly killing her.

Her aunt physically abused her.

"How can you be so sure?" Hermione asked him sadly. "I can't even walk out of my room without being punished for something."

"HERMIONE CLOSE THAT WINDOW RIGHT NOW!" Her aunt screamed as she walked in the room.

Hermione whipped around before being drug away from the window forcefully by the hair.

Silent tears fell down Draco's face as he watched the shadow's of Hermione and her aunt on the walls of her room. She screamed and cried in pain. Lights all around the neighborhood started going out.

Draco couldn't take it anymore. He ran into the living room and called the police. Once he got off the phone, he rushed back to his room. The screaming had stopped.

"Hermione." He said quietly. "Hermione." He raised his voice. He did this many times until he was full on yelling. "HERMIONE."

He ran outside and over to her house as soon as the policemen and EMT's got there.

An hour later, they brought out her aunt in cuffs. Not 15 minutes later, they rolled out a stretcher with a person in a body bag.

"No. No, no, no, no. NO!" Draco cried.

He fell to his knees and cried.

It was breezy. The sun was partly covered by the clouds. The saddest day of Draco's life. Hermione's funeral. He shed quiet tears as they laid her in the ground and covered her with dirt.

"Why couldn't it be me?" Draco asked himself.

Then he left.

A few months later, as Draco was sitting on the couch in the living room, his father came into the house drunk. He looked over at him and smirked evilly.

"Father, are you ok."

An evil gleam shown in his eye as he raised his wand.

"Avada Kadevra." With a thump, Draco fell limp onto the floor.

It was bright. The light was unbearable.

A small yet gentle hand reached down and rested on Draco's shoulder. He looked up and his jaw dropped. There right in front of him was no other than Hermione Granger.

He jumped up and hugged her tightly.

She smiled kindly before grabbing his hand and began running towards the light, dragging him along with her.

The light swallowed them and left the two happier than imaginable. They loved each other more than anything.

Nothing would ever come between the two again.

The End
