*Cecilia Solar
So it's been three weeks since Cyrus and Alec's big announcement and things have been hectic. At school and at home.
Cyrus and I started planning the wedding since I am the maid of honor; Alec would throw in his thoughts every now and then, of course. We have chosen the location, the cake, the food, and the camera and video men. Cy knows I'll still have my camera and my pictures will come out better, duh.
The tuxes will be chosen closer to the wedding day which they have chosen to do around July because they want a beach wedding.
My birthday is in five days and I'm so energized. My brothers say they have a big surprise for me.
Jessy and I have gotten closer. I don't tell him my secrets, but we text more frequently now and I don't have to be too quiet around him now. He's actually introducing his boyfriend to me tomorrow.
Right now, I'm pulling up at Alec's place for my regular Friday appointment.
Like always, I knock four times, pause, then knock two more times.
The door opens quickly and I'm greeted with a smiling redhead with big fake lips, green contacts, and tight clothing. Her smile disappears when she acknowledges me.
"You're not the pizza guy." Redhead points out
"No, shit." I mutter.
She is suddenly pulled back and I see Alec with a look of panic on his face.
"Cecilia, I'm so sorry, Love, I forgot you were coming today."
I stare at Alec and his lack of clothing; all he has on is some basketball shorts.
I cross my arms on my chest, "I thought you were gay," I glare at the redhead behind him, "and engaged."
He looks confused and then looks back at the redhead, "No, no, no, it's not like that."
I scoff, "Then what's going on? You simply decided to lose your clothes in the process of talking to this," I look the redhead up and down, "girl."
"Jazmin, go to the guest room." Alex instructs.
I get annoyed that he won't just tell me who she is if he has nothing to hide.
"Damn, she's staying here, too?" I nod, slowly. "I'm going to go now, Alec. I'll see you Monday. Maybe." I turn and start walking to my car.
"Wait, Cecilia, let me explain!"
I don't listen. Too late, dude.
Once back in my car, I sigh. Well, I got time before they expected me at home so I might as well do some shopping.
I stop at Pet Smart first. My baby needs some food.
I send Cecil a text asking if he needs anything for Phoenix.
He replies right away.
I buy a big bag of bird seeds for Phoenix, a huge bag of Royal's regular dog food, three shirts for Royal, a new black collar with Royal's name, a swing for Phoenix, and six new toys for Royal.
I like shopping for Royal and Phoenix; I love animals.
Spontaneously, I buy a Hypo Translucent Het Witblits, or blue bearded dragon. Named him right away. His name is Stitch. I love that little blue alien. I buy him his tank and all his necessities. At last, I get his food and pay.
After Pet Smart, I stop at Office Max to print the pictures from our summer vacation.
Since it's Friday, I decided to stop at a gasoline station to buy munchies to watch movies at home.
I buy six bags of picante corn nuts, four big bags of Hot Cheetos with lemon, four bags of Doritos, four bags of sour Skittles, four Dr. Pepper's, cheese dip, and a jar of pickles. I'm thinking all nighter.
I get home and call the guys to help me get the bags out of my car.
Bark Bark Bark
I kneel down as soon as I get into the house. Royal jumps into my lap, barking cheerfully.
"Royal, I've missed you, Boy." I rub his tummy.
"Missed you. Missed you." Phoenix repeats from Cecil's shoulder.
I tell Cecil to help me set up Stitch's tank and lamp. After Stitch is settled, we head downstairs.
I breathe in and walk towards Cyrus.
I grab Cyrus's arm, "Can I talk to you for a bit?"
"Sure, Sis. Hey, guys, you set up the snacks, pillows, and blankets in the living room while I talk to Cecy." Cyrus tells Casper and Cecil.
They nod, agreeing.
"What's up, Sis?" Cyrus asks, leaning on the kitchen island.
"How long have you known Alec?"
"Four years, a year after you started your appointments with him, but we've been together for three years and four months. Why?"
"I think you should rethink your wedding." I choke out, "I think he's cheating on you." I whisper, softly, looking down.
"Oh, I see." He nods, "Cecilia, it's okay to be jealous, but that doesn't mean you have to make things up to try to break us up."
My head whips up, "What?"
"I get it. You have a crush on Alec, but why stoop so low as to lie to me." His voice becomes louder.
"I don't have a crush on him and I'm not lying!" I resort back.
"Why would you even make something like this up. You're supposed to be my sister. You're supposed to support me on my decision, not bring me down. Unless you're ready to apologize and be happy for me, you're not my sister!" He yells.
I flinch from his loud voice, but I stay quiet.
"I guess that's your answer." Cyrus storms upstairs.
I feel tears well up in my eyes but I don't let them fall. I haven't cried since I was nine, I had no reason to.
Screw him if he doesn't believe his own family. He didn't even let me explain what I saw.
Royal comes and rugs on my pants, whining.
I look up to see Cecil and Casper looking at me with sad eyes from the door frame.
"Want to talk about it? We'll believe you." Casper smiles slightly.
"Not right now. I kind of just want to be alone for a while." I sniff.
I go to my room, Royal in my arms, and for the first time since I was nine, I cry myself to sleep.
