"Damn, already running low on ammo," I whispered to myself.
The groans were getting closer. I really wish that I hadn't left my handgun silencer in the convenience store a few miles back-- my thought was interrupted by the faint sound "splat". I turn around with my squeaky sneaker crumbling leaves in my path (cause im so suddle) to see what I was up against. I had a million guesses but none were even close to what I actually saw. The walker had a knife sticking out of its head, stretching from is ear to its eye. But one thing confused me.. Where was the owner the weapon?? Scared, I looked around me, startled of what may come. There was a whistle coming from behind. I turned around to be greeted by a boy. Young, probably the same age as me. Confused, I was ready to demand answers when he put a finger to his lips to sush me. Imagine how enraged I was! This kid, thirteen or so, thinking he had the right to hush me?! And I was about to let him have it, too, believe me; until he motioned me to turn around. A herd. About forty yards away I could already been see them coming. Before I could react, the young stranger took my hand and pulled me through the forest. I tried my best to stay quiet with my frigging loud shoes and remember the directions he was taking us in so we didn't get lost. I feel really weird not knowing what to call him, so he's Sheriff. A nickname because of his officer hat perched upon his short, brown curly hair. Sheriff pulled me into a small faded red barn house and SLAMED the door shut.
"Quick, help me board up the door!" He demanded. I rush to the side of the room and grabbed wood and nails and began to block the door way.
Once the walkers were groaning and banging on the doors, Sheriff and I collapsed to the floor in exhaustion. Sheriff sat up and said," Hey, I'm Carl Grimes. And I need to ask you three simple questions."
