"StOP IT! YOU'RE GOING TO MAKE ME FALL!" Evan clung onto the metal railing lining the rink. Alec stepped away from him, letting out a laugh.
"I'm not going to make you fall! I'm trying to help your poor soul." Alec joked. He grabbed Evan's upper arm, trying to pry him away from the spot he had settled himself in. Alec was completely stable on his pair of rental skates, Evan on the other hand was completely unbalanced.
When Evan first stepped onto the rink, his knees gave out and he fell down. Alec had taunted him by skating out right into the center of the rink, gliding around in circles.
"Ok, here." Alec grabbed Evan's wrists and pulled him out and away from the railing. Evan, completely thrown off guard by the pull, fell over into Alec's arms.
"I TOLD YOU I WASNT READY!" Evan complained. He refused to move his legs in fear of falling over again. Alec started to laugh at the immature actions of the boy. Evan's grip on Alec's arms tightened when he tried to stand up straight. He was able to pick up his back and stand up, but as soon as he moved his feet he slipped and fell right back down onto the ice.
Alec bent over to grab his hand, needing to pick him up before he got tripped on by the other skaters. Evan panicked and pulled Alec down with him. Numerous people around the pair gave weird and judgey looks, but they didn't care. Evan had burst into a fit of giggles as Alec picked himself back up. The bottom part of his hoodie was now partially soaked and covered with thin icicles.
Alec started to teasingly skate away from the boy still on the ground. Evan stopped laughing and gave Alec grabby hands for him to pick him up. He eventually gave in and brought Evan back to the railing. He slowly inched his way around the rink to the entrance on the other side.
"I don't think this is for me..." Evan hesitantly muttered, rubbing his lower back on the folding chair he was sitting on. He hadn't taken off his skates, cause he still wanted to get back on the ice. He had seen Alec's face light up when he had agreed to come here and didn't want to disappoint him. He rubbed the back of his neck, preparing to stand back up.
He used the handle of the chair to help push himself up, using the nearby wall for more support. He saw Alec by the entrance waiting for him. He gave a smile when he saw Evan trying to get back to him. Evan got to the entrance and Alec put out a hand for the boy to grab. Evan immediately clasped his own with the redheads and took his lead.
Alec kept one hand on Evan's wrist and the other on his shoulder, trying to keep him from slipping. He was slowly getting the hang of it but wasn't ready to be fully let go. Alec took him over to a corner of the rink.
"Ok, do you think you can try and go one full loop without the railing?" Alec asked. Evan looked up and gave a shrug, not really confident he wasn't going to cling onto the metal. Alec smirked knowing exactly what to say to get the boy excited.
"If you can do it under 2 minutes, I'll buy you ice cream." Alec teased, already starting to skate away from the teal-haired boy.Evan let out a gasp and threw himself off the railing, raring to go. He stuck his arms out to find balance and then started to glide. Alec was feeling cocky and started to skate backward, keeping his eyes on the boy. Evan puffed up his cheeks and started to glide faster, trying to catch up to the redhead. Alec just kept laughing and skating waiting for Evan to finish. He skated a ways away and waited by the corner nearest the entrance for Evan to get to him. He saw the boy struggle on the turn but managed to keep his balance. Alec couldn't help but blush at the clumsiness of Evan's actions.
Soon enough, Evan started to wobble, but he refused to grab onto the railing. Alec instinctively put his arm out to grab him, even though he was far away. He took this as a sign and started to skate towards his friend.
Evan saw Alec coming towards him and let out a chuckle. Unfortunately, having his eyes on Alec averted his attention from his feet. He misplaced his footing and slipped backwards. Evan panicked and in an attempt to save himself from falling he didn't reach out for the railing, but for Alec's hand.

"Are you sure that you're okay?! That was a pretty rough fall." Alec apologetically asked. He sat next to the green-eyed boy licking away at a pistachio ice cream cone. He held a small plastic bag full of ice on top of his head.
"Yeah, I'm fine. It hurt when it happens but I feel better now. Thanks to this amazing treat." Evan taunted, licking his ice cream once more. Alec deadpanned at the boy. He seemed to be enjoying this way too much.
"I only bought it for you cause I felt bad. You didn't even make it fully around." Alec crossed his arms. Evan pouted at the action before putting his ice cream down on a napkin on the table in front of them.
"Are you suuure?" Evan wrapped his arms around Alec's shoulders, dropping his makeshift ice pack on the floor. Alec flinched at the gesture at first, but then grabbed Evan's wrists and hugged him back at the weird angle.
"Yes, I am very sure," Alec said turning his head. Now their faces were just inches apart. Alec found himself scanning Evan's face up and down. Staring at his features and taking in their uniqueness. Both slowly started to subconsciously bring their faces closer together. Evan closed his eyes as they placed their foreheads together, waiting for Alec. Alec was about to close his too before he saw a drop of blood run down Evan's neck.
"Did you seriously scrape your chin too!!?"
