Water splashed all around from the jump.
"Alec what the heck! I'm eating!" Kyran complained. Alec probably didn't even hear him, since his entire body was still submerged in the water. Kyran turned back around in the chair he was sitting in, continuing to eat his burger.

Alec finally emerged from below the water, pushing his wet hair back before it poked him in his eyes. "You didn't even question how long I was under for?" Alec questioned. Kyran looked back at him, his cheeks full from a bite he just took.

"It's just drowning. You would've been fine." Kyran deadpanned. Alec gave him an unimpressed look before he started swimming back to the small steel ladder by the 5ft mark on the pool wall. He climbed out and stole a few of Kyran's fries.

"When's Evan coming? Didn't he text you?" Alec asked, dipping a fry in the side of ketchup.

"He said he was on his way like, 7 minutes ago— aND STOP EATING MY FRIES!" Kyran smacked another fry out of Alec's hand. Alec gave him a mocking sad face before grabbing his phone and checking the time.

3:34. This doofus better get here soon.
As if on command, Alec heard the faint sound of a car door close.

"Oh, he said he's here," Kyran stated from behind. Alec ran up the gate, ready to open it for their teal-haired friend.
He saw Evan come running up, barefoot with a towel over his right shoulder.
"Hey! Sorry I'm a bit late. We got stuck in traffic and then took a wrong turn. You know the vibes." Evan explained as Alec opened the door for him. Evan gave him a pair of finger guns before going up and greeting Kyran.

"Took you long enough. Alec was getting antsy." Kyran revealed. Alec came up and gave him a quick smack to the back of his head.
"Ow! What the heck?!"
"I was not. He's a liar." Alec joked. Evan let out a laugh before placing his towel down.

"Is the water cold?" Evan asked, looking about ready to jump in right there.
"Uh, it was a little cold when I first got in, but I don't know how it is now. Kinda got used to it, ya'know?" Alec explained. Evan just shrugged and backed up to the fence. He took a running start and cannonballed into the deeper end of the pool. The water slashed and went everywhere.

"Again, I'm eATING!" Kyran complained. Alec let out a laugh before jumping in with Evan. The foam and bubbles subsided and the water went still. Neither Alec nor Evan had emerged. Kyran looked over with a perplexed face. His eyes darted from one side of the pool to the other. He put his almost finished burger down and bent down near the edge of the pool, striking his hand through it twice. Kyran grew more confused as each second went by.

Out of nowhere, Evan splashed out of the water like a shark. He grabbed Kyran's arm and dragged him down into the water. A cut scream was head before Kyran fell into the water. Alec and Evan both brought their heads out fo the water while Kyran struggled to get back up. Bundles of laughs could be heard from both of the boys' mouths, a few coughs taking their place every now and then.

Kyran brought his head up, his hair so heavy it blocked both his eyes. Evan unsuccessfully covered a laugh at Kyran face. Evan got an unimpressed look thrown back at him from the blueberry. He pushed back his hair and swam closer to the latter.

"That wasn't funny..." Kyran spoke as he climbed the few steps.

"It kinda was." Evan threw back. He turned toward Alec and started laughing again.

"You just got here and I already want you to leave," Kyran said as he sat down on the area of concrete just out of the pool, his feet still in the water.

"Aw, I love you too, Ky," Evan taunted. He placed his arms on the concrete next to Kyran, staying in place. He and Alec locked eyes yet again, a smirk forming on each of their faces. Kyran saw this and kicked his foot out and back into the water, sending water splashing in both their faces.

"Get a room." Kyran joked. Alec blushed just a bit at the joke. Ky and Evan went unnoticed to the sight of pink on Alec's face. Caught flustered by Kyran's words, Alec grabbed the boy's forearm with one hand and his ankle with the other. He pulled on his limbs and threw him back in the water. He let out another cut scream before he crashed into the pool.

Evan let out a loud laugh at Alec's action. Alec looked over and started laughing with him.
"He deserved it." Evan boasted, raising an eyebrow at Alec. Alec let out a small laugh and responded, "That's what he gets for assuming."
