I headed home.

“Why is my life so weird?” I asked no one.

I parked in the driveway. I walked up to the front door. Before I could even touch the knob, the door opened. Sarah stood there, looking worried.

“Where were you?!” She yelled.

I stepped into the house and began to make some coffee.

“I was at the restaurant.” I answered.

“But I thought you were on day shift.” She said.

“I am, but I was…working on something important.” I said.

“Well next time you need to let me know.” She said.

I just shook my head. She was such an overprotective sister.

“I’m a responsible adult. I can take care of myself.” I replied.

She just giggled.

“I know, but ever since you got that job…well, you’ve had some crazy things happen.”

“Trust me, I’ll be fine.” I said.

She gave me a hug.

“I trust you Mike. Just be careful for your sis, ok.” She said.

“Ok. I promise.” I said.

Sorry that this one was so short. I promise that the next one will be longer.
