" Attention all newbies, please go find the training grounds. They are located around the back of the facility. "
The metallic voice of the announcer repeated again.
Snowberry, Jadie, and Nuts were hurrying towards the door at the back of the barn. Their first training session with Joe began soon
Joe was a professional cross country trainer. He was a middle-aged duck that abandoned his sport to teach it
"Oooooh, I'm so exited!" Jadie exclaimed in a hundred different ways as the trio waddled towards the training area. Nuts was quite annoyed with it, by the look on his face, but didn't quack a word of complaint. Snowberry thought. She wondered if the trainers were nice and if training was fun. They arrived among the last of the other ducks.
" As many of you know", shouted their new teacher," My name is Joe, and I will provide all of you ducklings some quality running training." Joe went on to explain rules, schedules, and skill measurement to the eager crowd. Afterwards, everyduck went to pick up their schedules from a machine inside another section of the barn. Snowberry and her freinds, as well as half the ducks in their section if living quarters, had the same classes at the same times.
And so began the first day if training.

" That was actually pretty great!" Nuts exclaimed as their section was sent off to sleep.
" You bet your beak it was!" Snowberry laughed in return. Jadie giggled along with her, squeaking every so often between laughs.
Jadie yawned, Snowberry repeating the gesture of sleepiness.
" We ought to get to bed", she quacked, " We don't want to get in trouble, and we have training tomorrow"
Nuts nodded, and waddled off to his room. Jadie turned and waddled across the hall. Snowberry gazed after them before happily retreating to her room.
