Jiya's POV

I ran towards him and nudged him with my feet.
"Hey! You alive?", I asked him. I got no reply, so I kicked him one or two times more. I still got no reply from his side.
"Oh Jesus! How much are you going to punish me? Haven't I already seen enough? If he dies, they'll get me buried in a brick wall. Omfg!", I said.
I squatted and checked his heartbeat and breathing. Thank Jesus, he was breathing. Thanks alot. Atleast I won't have to see the brick wall now.
I tried waking him up, but no avail. So I started to pull him up and get him into bed. But, he was so heavy. I couldn't even pull him towards the bed.
So I positioned myself over his head, grabbed both of his arms and dragged him on the floor until we reached the bed. Then I pulled him up by his cloak and threw him onto the bed. By the time I completed doing all this, it was already sunrise. So I decided to do some jogging. But I can't jog in a saree. I think I should ask for the royal tailor later and get some clothes made according to my taste. So, no workout for today also. Well, it was cool in one way, while dragging him, I lost a few calories. I decided to take a walk in the royal gardens.

On my way back, I heard a beautiful voice singing a beautiful Krishna aarti (a religious song). I decided to go and check who the person was, and as I had thought earlier, it was Jodha. I joined hands in front of Krishna (a hindu mythological god) and Jodha smiled at me. Her eyes looked like she wanted to ask me a question, but both of us played it cool. I took my leave and went back to my chambers.

Akbar's POV

I opened my eyes and found myself laying awkwardly on a different bed. It wasn't my bed or Ruqaiya's neither of any other begum that I visit mostly. Oh damn! I remember. Begum Jahnvi. I was supposed to be with her. Did anything happen? Did we do it? I wanted answers. But I was fully clothed and not even my jewellery had been taken out. This means that nothing happened last night. I tried to regain consciousness and called for a maid.
"Hello. Is anyone there?", I screamed.

"Geez. What are you screaming for? Be silent please.", I heard her voice.

"How dare you talk to your king that way?", I roared. When I turned around and saw her standing with a tray in her hand. It had some kind of soup in it. She was looking breathtaking in the light green saree she was wearing. She was looking confident and not shy that I could see her bare skin.
Normally any woman would shy away or try to cover herself, but not this one.

Was it because something really did happen last night?
The sunlight from the window was falling upon her beautiful face and her hair. So beautiful and so pure. I had seen so many beauties in all my life but this one was just so different. Even more beautiful than Ruqaiya, Jodha and Mehr-un-nisa. "What is happening to you Jalal?", I asked myself. She was standing there and I was staring at her.

"Did something happen last night?", I asked.
She chuckled.
"The list is pretty long, your highness. What should I start from?", she replied.
"Maybe-yes. Your drunk self stumbling into my room and me having to drag you from the door to the bed. You trying to kiss me and me pushing you away after sometime because of your poor skills. Wanna hear more?"

What? This was impossible. No woman had ever complained. I'll kill this woman.

"I'll kill you woman.", I screamed.

"Yeah. Go ahead. What will people say Shehenshah killed his wife because he couldn't satisfy her. Well, I didn't expect Mughal rulers to be so cruel. ", she grinned.

I couldn't take it anymore, before I said or did anything embarrassing, I got up to leave. I started to find my shoes but couldn't find them.

"Where are my shoes?", I asked impatiently.

"Right were you left them last night", she mocked pointing towards the door. I saw a shoe at the doorstep and the other shoe was at the other corner of the room. Damn! This was embarrassing. This had never happened before. And even if it had happened, the women would clean all the mess before me waking up.

"You did this on purpose right? To embarrass me?", I screamed.

"Me? To embarrass you? Seriously? Don't you think you've done it enough already last night."
This was it. I walked out of the doors barefooted. Her face, her body was roaming in my mind. I needed to unwind all this. I needed to workout (here, sword practice). I needed to take revenge, for Ruqaiya and for myself. No one has ever lived after insulting the Shehenshah.

Jiya's POV

Shehenshah walked out and he was clearly very embarrassed. Damn! It was fun teasing him. I had added a few things to the description but it really was a very funny sight. The maid came in and announced breakfast. Damn! I had to eat with everyone else. It was gonna be very uncomfortable.

When we reached the dining hall, all the eyes were on me, I noticed him sitting with his special wife. They were talking about something. Everyone seemed too cheerful with me today. I took my place and the food was served. I had no appetite but the food was too good. I asked Raani to pack something for me.

"How was your night? Begum Jahnvi. Hope you slept well.", Ruqaiya asked.

"Well why don't you ask Shehenshah about it. I really think that he can explain it to you better than me. Now I'd take your leave, I'm not hungry.", I replied.

"Do you really think that a simple Princess from a small state can talk back to the Queen of the world.", she spat. I couldn't control myself and laughed.

"Well, if you think that you're the Queen of the world, then I'm afraid you don't even know how big the world is. India is like a small droplet in the ocean. Anyways, keep dreaming.", I said.

I got up and said goodbye, everyone had their eyes on me once again. And I swear, I saw Shehenshah smiling.

Why do you think was Shehenshah Jalal Smiling?

Does he feel something for Jiya?

Or is it just a game?

Will Jiya ever go back?

And will the things be the same when she returns?

To find out. Keep reading
