LILY'S POV:

Amused, I watched as my daughter's cheeks reddened as her Slytherin friend lead her to the living room.

James stood up,"I'm going to go- "

"No, you are not going to disturb them." I replied sternly.

"But-"

"No."

"Yes, dear." James sat down, pouting.

Narcissa chuckled. I turned to her and asked, "So, what time is this ball?"

"It will start at eight o' clock," she replied. "And it will end at midnight."

"Why is Lucius bedridden, anyway?" James asked, suspiciously.

I glared at him.

"James!"

THUD!

All of us were startled by the noise, trying to figure out where it came from.

"HARRIET, YOU WERE SUPPOSSED TO FOLLOW MY LEAD!"

"WELL, I'M SORRY! IT'S NOT MY FAULT YOUR FEET ALMOST SEEMS AS BIG AS YOUR HEAD!"

"WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH THIS?! IT'S ENTIRELY YOUR DOING!"

"ARRGGHH! LET'S JUST SIT THIS ONE OUT!"

"OH NO! WE ARE NOT LEAVING THIS ROOM UNTIL YOU CAN DANCE PERFECTLY!"

"BUT-!"

"NO BUTS! NOW GET OFF OF ME AND LET'S START FROM THE TOP!"

There was a long pause before Narcissa, James and I started cracking up.

"OI! STOP LAUGHING!" Harriet and Draco yelled.

Their demand was ignored.

"But moooooooom, I don't want to shop for a new pair of heels."

I sighed. The Malfoys had left after Draco was satisfied with Harriet's progress. Now, we were at Diagon Alley, shopping for a formal ensemble.

"Harriet, you broke your last pair when you decided to throw them at your cousin, Dudley, the last time we visited the Dursleys." I reasoned.

"I don't see why you said it like it's a bad thing." James said.

I glared at him. "Don't you start."

James smirked at me and shrugged.

We went from store to store, trying to find the perfect pair. James and Harriet, unfortunately, gets more obnoxious by the minute.

When we're finally done, we Flooed back to Godric's Hollow and I collapsed on the living room couch, rubbing my temple.

Those two are too much to handle sometimes.

"James." I mumbled, completely drained. "Be a dear and fetch me some water."

A few moments later, I heard Harriet laughing. Oh no.

I looked up from the couch I collapsed on, and facepalmed.

There was a deer beside me, holding a glass of water.

"James, please transform back. I too tired for this crap."

He obliged. "Here," he said gently as he handed me the glass.

"Harriet, please try on your gown with the heels and accessories. I want to see it complete."

She grumbled, but went upstairs to change without complaint.

I laided down on the sofa, and sighed. James kissed my temple.

I sometimes wonder what it would feel like to be completely at peace. Certainly not with these two.
