As Nick glanced at the television and back, he realised everything came at a price. He always wished school would be at home, but now it was so boring, but his slightly older (SLIGHTLY) twin sister was prepared. She was looking down at her algebra homework, understanding it perfectly.
"How do you do that without throwing that pile of garbage out the window?!" Nick complained, getting kind of annoyed his sister was better than him at everything.
"Just concentrating, and turn the sound down please" Charlotte
"No, sorry, unless you forgot I'm deaf!" Nick had struggled with a small middle ear infection when he was a few months old, but it spread his other ear, and became an infection. Just 5 months after, silence descended upon Nick (well nearly deaf).
Both children were brought into the world in 2008 and were just 43 seconds apart!  When growing up, Charlotte was always ahead of Nick in every subject; it annoyed him. But what annoyed him even more was one thing:
Lockdown
A terrible virus swept the nation -as well as the world- and in order to stop the spread of it, the W.H.O made it a law to be inside unless you had a good reason not to. This meant that everybody was stuck inside, which made Nick shout out constantly, "IM SO BORED MUM!"
Since there was no school the day after, the twins decided to sleep at 11:00pm, so they could do anything they wanted before they went to sleep.
As they jumped into their bunk bed, they shared tales about conspiracies and things they had heard of lately. Slowly, Nick's eyes began to lower and they shut...

Nick woke up suddenly, feeling around to get a sense of where he was. But, where was he? He called for his sister, but she never answered. Where was everyone?
"GUYS!?? WHERE ARE YOU?!!" Nick bellowed hoping for someone to reply (even though he wouldn't hear them. All of a sudden, a slim character dawdled towards him, a shadow, just going
towards him.
Nick tried to run but there was no escape, and he felt trapped. The slim 'person' touched his face and he knew what was happening. Before they were asleep, Charlotte told him about an alien who can read your mind and you can understand what he's taking about. This being was offering him a chance to go to another universe, where the virus can't wreak havoc. Nick wanted out of this so he took the offer.
But when he stepped inside, he felt a surge of pain in his back and he fell to the ground lifeless. He was dead.

Panting heavily, Nick threw his head up on the air, sweating. But he wasn't at home. Neither was his sister.
They were in another universe.
