"Nazaki... I don't think this is a good idea... I mean.. she's only two! Think about all of the things that could happen to her!" Kazuna remarked as she looked into the child's deep blue eyes, them staring back at her with curiosity.

"Kazuna, you know why we have to do this, if we don't send her to the Anbu, no matter how young she is, you know she won't make it." He stared at the ground, unwilling to match his wife's sorrowful gaze.

"But why?!" Kazuna's voice broke. "Why does all of this have to happen?! We were a normal family! Everything was fine! What changed to the point where we have to send our own daughter away to some secret organization?!" She couldn't take it anymore, and deep inside she pleaded that her husband would change his mind.

"You know why..." Nazaki muttered. "There is no other way. You know we're on the watch list of the Akatsuki from being past Jinchuriki. We shouldn't even be here right now. Just follow the Third's orders and maybe we'll get out of here alive. He started towards the path to the entrance of Konoha.

"Nazaki! Wait! Let me at least say goodbye..." She ran up to the child, now snuggled up into her father's arms. "Goodbye, my sweet maru-chan.." She swept her arms around her child as her tears soaked into the baby's blanket. Kimimaru only lightened her gaze to look at her mother. Long, blonde hair, green eyes, and her wide smile was the only thing Kimimaru ever knew from her. Nazaki was more like a fuzzy memory, always gone on missions and barely ever being able to go back to their humble home on the outskirts of the land of fire. Kimimaru's eyes closed once again as she moved her face towards the army green of her father's jacket.

Nazaki once again began to start down the path that was the entrance to Konoha, with Kazuna following slowly behind.

Once they reached the gates, they greeted the entrymen and explained the reason for their arrival so late at night. They immediately knew the situation and guided them at once to the Third Hokage's office. They knock on the door and leave the building at once.

"Welcome... Nazaki and Kazuna... I've been waiting for your arrival." The third sighed with a solemn expression on his face. "Are you ready?" he placed his hands on his desk and looked downwards. Nazaki and Kazuna only stared at each other, Kazuna with fright and Nazaki with guilt. Both of their eyes grew wide as Nazaki started to approach the thirds desk. He slowly guided Kimimaru to the desk and put her into the arms of the third Hokage. The third looked at her fondly and dismissed the crushed parents. They started off slowly towards the door. Nazaki stared at the indents on the long wooden outside that was the door frame of the Hokage's office. He couldn't bear to focus on Kimimaru. Tears swelled in his eyes as his fingers traced along the ridges of the wall. Kazuna stayed completely silent as her eyesight fogged.

Kimimaru stirred in her sleep as the third muttered over his breath.
"Oh dear child... how will you ever survive the harsh training involved in being an Anbu?" He looked down at kimimaru, who did nothing but sigh in her sleep. He smiled and took in a deep breath. "Oh well... maybe you'll do alright. Nothing too bad can happen." The third sat up from his desk and walked to the door of his office. He looked back at the window, showcasing all of the beauty of Konoha's clear sky in the dead of night. He smiled as he went off to deliver Kimimaru to the Anbu's hideout. As he walked across the dirt path into the deep forest, he realized how much Kimimaru reminded him of young Minato. He chuckled as he looked at her, seeing his favorite student within her. Blonde hair, green eyes, facial structure undeniably similar. "Seems she'll be just fine if she takes from Minato." His eyes lit up with newfound hope.

As soon as he arrived at the hideout, two masked men greeted him and said to drop her off right at the gates.

"Oh, but surely I can come in?" The third questioned.

"Sorry Hokage-sama," One of the men replied. "You know how Danzo is, even for you. No one is allowed in or out unless specified." The third pondered.
"I see.. well then... I'll be dropping off this little one here." He handed the young child to one of the young men and stared up at the sky once more.  The third muttered under his breath
"Hagoromo... please be nice to this young one..." The third turned around and started back towards the path that he once came. The men retreated back into the Anbu hideout and the gates shut closed with a silent snap. The third didn't even notice, as he was too deep in thought about his decision. After all, he could've taken care of her himself and have hidden her from the world. Was sending her off into the harsh reality of Anbu training really a good idea? He would ponder on this idea for a very long time. The Anbu was really struggling for members in this point in time, and Danzo thought she would be a good candidate to train up to be a fantastic member of the Anbu.

The dim light of the Anbu hideout greeted Kimimaru's young eyes as she stared up at the tunnel that was now her home.
