-POV Of Kimimaru-
By early morning, Mizuko reached the Anbu hideout. There, Kishi was waiting for her, a stern look masked the worry she had felt earlier that night.
"WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS MIZU! I TOLD YOU NOT TO LEAVE!" Kishi yelled at Mizu.Mizu did not react, only stared.
"I'm sorry, Kishi-sama, I came across a boy, and had to carry him back to his house. I will never disobey your orders again."
Mizu bowed."A boy you say?... you didn't take off your mask, did you?" Kishi questioned.
"No, Kishi-sama," Mizu replied.
Kishi was lost in thought.
"Good...good... well, please do not disobey my orders again, or there will be consequences, got it? You're lucky you have a trainer as benevolent as me." Kishi muttered.Mizu smiled, she knew how lucky she was. Compared to the other Anbu members she could have gotten, Kishi was the nicest of them all.
"Mizu, have you made any progress on chakra control?" Kishi asked.
Mizu looked away. "...Not really, but I promise to train 10 times harder today, and I won't get left behind! I will be just as strong as all the other members in the Anbu." Mizu was determined/
Kishi laughed. "Oh.. Mizu.. don't be so hard on yourself. You're only 8, all of the other members are much older than you! Once you're 10 years old, you should start worrying about skills. For now, we'll just learn the basics.
Kishi paused. "Right, well, I'll let you train inside today, you know the wide ceilinged area, right? Try to run up the walls instead of the trees outside. I'll be watching you this time, and if you need any help, just ask." Kishi started to walk towards the area.
Mizu thought about Naruto, and how she wouldn't be able to see him again today. She was saddened by this, but the overwhelming pressure that she put on herself to learn chakra control perfectly pushed her onwards towards their destination.Once they arrived in the open-aired facility, Kishi once again explained the procedure. How she needed to focus, how she needed to visualize her chakra, and, finally, control it enough to be able to run up the walls.
Mizu closed her eyes and imagined a ball of chakra in the center of her body. She then imagined all of the chakra paths inside of her body. Mizu visualized the chakra from those paths leading down to her feet, and finally surrounding them.
Mizu made little progress.
She kept getting frustrated by the never-ending cycle of being so close, but never quite reaching what she wanted.
"Ugh! This is so frustrating, what am I doing wrong?!" Mizu pouted over to Kishi.
Kishi just explained that it took time and practice and that she wouldn't get it immediately. This only made Mizu more frustrated, since she always saw the other Anbu members using their control to run vertically, or run on water.
"Don't worry, I'm sure you'll get it eventually," Kishi told Mizu.
Mizu went back to practicing.
Many days and nights passed, until, finally, Mizu made some progress.
After so many restless hours imagining what the chakra looked like, and how to gather it up into her feet, she finally got it.
Mizu had stayed awake for three days straight just to get this right. She looked down, and saw the aura around her feet, but was careful to not let her excitement break her concentration. Mizu sprinted up the wall, Kishi's eyes lit up as she saw her run from building to building.
Mizu finally dropped down gracefully from the ceiling.
"Kishi-sama! How did I do?" Mizu asked.
"That was great! You got the hang of it pretty quickly, too! Good job." Kishi pattered Mizu on the back, proud of her progress.
Mizu finally collapsed on the floor due to exhaustion, Kishi carrying her back to her living quarters.
As Kishi stared into the mirror that was found inside of Mizu's room, she acknowledged the physical features of her face.
Short red hair, green eyes, and a stern cold look always spread on her face, except when she was around Mizu.
Even though Kishi herself was only 15, she felt that Mizu was her responsibility.
Well, Mizu really was her responsibility. Due to lord Danzo giving her the trainer role and guardian in Kishi's life, Kishi felt like a mother to Mizu, even at such a young age. Kishi hoped she would always be there to watch Mizu thrive and grow.
While Kishi was lost deep in her thoughts, a sudden voice was pushed into her head by some foreign Jutsu.
"Lord Danzo wishes to see you." The voice said.
She assumed this was one of Lord Danzo's henchmen.
"Got it, tell him I will see him soon." Was her response.
Kishi went straight to Lord Danzo's living quarters and knocked on the door.
"Kishi-san, is that you?" One of the servants asked.
"Yes." Was the only thing she said.
The doors swung open, and Kishi walked inside. Danzo beckoned her to come to sit down beside him.
"What is her progress?" Danzo questioned.
"She's doing well, she already has mastered chakra control. She is advancing rather quickly." Kishi said coldly.
"Is that so...that is wonderful, Kishi, once we get her to learn some basic ninjutsu, and master it, she will be able to be sent out on missions. Then we can really shape her personality. You will have to be much harder on her once she gets a little older. " To this, Kishi sighed.
"Yes, Lord Danzo," Kishi said quietly.
"Have you found out what kind of chakra she has, and how much?" Danzo asked.
"I don't know her affinity, but I can assume by how quickly she learned how to control her chakra that she has a decent amount of it. I think Mizu will become some kind of prodigy, once we teach her the right things. She is very persistent in her training." Kishi responded.
"Good, good... anything else to report?"
"She met a boy, but he did not see her face. That is all."
"Oh? A boy? Was this when you were called up front for a mission?" Danzo said.
"Yes, that is what happened. She told me she had to carry him back to his house, I do not know why." Kishi said, still confused by Mizu's story."Did she happen to say the name of this boy, or what he looked like?" Danzo asked, once more trying to get more information out of Kishi.
Kishi thought for a moment.
"No, Lord Danzo, though if I asked she would most likely respond with a vague description of him, or his name if she happened to get it." Kishi bluntly responded.
"I see... well, you are dismissed. Thank you for reporting back to me." Danzo dismissed her."Not a problem at all, Lord Danzo. Thank you as well."
Kishi left through the front doors without making a sound, all that could be heard was the empty clanging of metal throughout the hideout, rain pitter-pattering on the beams.
